The image is really hard on the eye. And something of a Fan Myopia case. Can we get something else? Should this even have an image?

There's always the Tsukihime anime picture.

This was the smallest version I could find.

[up][up]GAH! MIND FUCK!

Sorry, all those wheels makes it hard to determine what the hell is going on there beyond the random character who I don't know of.

Still need More Dakka, and it's about time to start a real WAAAAAGH.

Anyone know a good visual of an event in a comic book Dork Age? Comics usually provide very clear, informative visuals.

Why not use the last four panels of this again? (maybe cutting the second) It was the page image once: http://xkcd.com/566/

I like it, the only problem I see with it is that "other two" might not necessarily mean sequels, but I might be over cautious.

I'd prefer a four-panel block of the last four panels. The violent denial of the sequels makes it clearer.

I have a message from another time...

Leaving it horizontal but shrinking it to TVT size makes the text illegible, and the panels aren't the same width, which makes a vertical reposition look funny IMO. Widened the second and third panels:

[up] How does the widened version look stacked vertically?

Agreed, XKCD demonstrates this trope perfectly.

Yep, that would be the trope.

I like that one. It's fine as a square, though I wouldn't mind at least seeing a vertical version.

Sorry, no: that is kind of a lot of editing, all four panels are different widths, and the "camera" moves from side to side so there is no good solution like copying the TV from the first panel.

Got this far (note relative positions of TV and chair in second panel, they are wrong... and what would you do with the third, just lots of empty white space?) and gave up:

Oh nm finished it :P

Yeah, you're right, that doesn't really work. Thanks anyway. Looks like 2x2 it is.

Too fast for my own good. [lol]

Yeah, I can't decide. They're both great.

The 2x2 works better.

And yeah, that xkcd short not only captures the idea behind Fanon Discontinuity perfectly, it also works without having any reference to The Matrix.

Everything can be found on the Internet... except common sense.

It really does. You don't have to know what films they're talking about for it to show the trope.
