Hmm. the character page has a mention that the Memetic Mutation page for the series was cut due to improper wiki formatting. It says if anyone knows how to handle that, they can put the page back up.

I'm surprised as of why Litchi isn't included as a Tier Induced Scrappy yet for CS... (pre-CS 2 that is.)

Or that she's the new Base Breaker. Plat? Bang? Carl? They don't break as much bases as her as of now. (And I think even Dustloop agrees...) Just in case, guess I'll put her at the main Base Breaker page.

So why is he called "Iron" Tager anyway? No, seriously, some of us on Game Faqs are trying to wrap our heads around this one. Nobody in the game other than Tager himself actually calls himself that. Is that a canonical explanation for "Iron"?

Code name, maybe?

And ugh Game FAQS. Good guide site, but the forumers can be an ass. Especially the BBCS PS 3 board...

His code name is TR-0009, actually.

I've been a regular of Game Faqs for 10 years now. I mainly stay away from actual gaming boards, but some of the special interest boards are fine. Blaz Blue Continuum Shift for the 360 is a nice bunch though. No jerks there.

^^ Agreed very quickly. The sudden wake of 'hating Litchi' is the new cool is what drives me away from Game FAQS quickly. I will admit that the 360 board is loads of times better than PS 3 board, but... they still carry the air of Litchi hate, thus I had to avoid it as well for my sanity.

But then again, it was like she's hit with a Flanderization. They take her desire to save Arakune to trample the rest of her characteristics that makes her great. I'm not surprised if Game FAQS decided to take that treatment and run with it, because her Face–Heel Turn makes her more of a Flat Character... not dynamic, because she's now just easily defined with "Want to save Arakune, and nothing else." rather than before where her personalities of "Motherly, caring, loving everyone equally" was much more prominent.

Hell, from most Litchi fans I saw, their response was like "I like CT Litchi, but I don't like her in CS." And this is not about Tier Induced Scrappy level.

^ True ending, Bad Ending, Gag reel? Or are you refering to the first game where you have to lose to every opponent on purpose?

Ok, so, question: I'm thinking of getting into Blaz Blue, as I've heard it's got a great training mode and such, and therefore is more friendly to a fighting game neophyte like myself. However, if I want to experience the full story, do I need to get both games or just Continuum Shift? Is it worth it to get both games?

Don't get both games. CT has less characters and is overall less balanced, so there's no reason to get it over CS.

Get only continuum shift, and get a story explanation of the first game from somewhere else.

Also, I personally HATE the training mode of the first game (Don't know about the second), but that's just because I keep mistakenly switching between characters and I don't know how to switch that feature off.

It's kinda funny. My mains are Tager and Arakune. In CT, I was always pitied as Tager and hated as Arakune. If I played CS, Tager would become the subject of hate instead, while Arakune would just be neutral.

Just realized this was here. tongue

Anyway, as a general introductory post, I main Hazama, sub's pretty much a three-way tie between Bang, Valkenhayn, and Lambda. I'm only really decent as Hazama, though... >w>;

I don't find Noel cheap so much as easy to learn. Like Tsubaki, i've seen novice players pull off incredible combos with them without having to learn twelve thousand different terms like "revolver action" or somesuch.

I am one of those novice players BTW.

I still can't seem to beat anyone as anyone but Taokaka. I can reliably pull off all her moves in the situations that they are apparently meant to to be used in, and i can do some nasty combos when people let down their guard. Plus that forward-C move can send people flying across the whole screen. That is very satisfying.

Jin is my freaking nemesis though. I've never beaten any Jin ever.

I also have been considering getting into the game. But considering I'm already terrible at fighting games that are already basically easy modo (like Marvel vs. Capcom 3), I fear getting into a fighting game series that is apparently more technical than what I'm used to.

I've been interested in Rachel and what she does, because she seems to play pretty similarly to a more mobile Dormammu, but I hear she's really hard to play - both in the fact that she's very technical and the fact that CS (which I assume is all anyone plays these days) makes her absolutely terrible. But I still want to try to main her. I want to know if anyone has any basic advice for someone who pretty much literally has no idea what they're doing. Would it be better to use a more "basic" character before moving on to Rachel?

I've also been interested in Taokaka and Bang.

@DRCEQ: Still first game... only I've already lost to everyone on purpose.

[up]Yeah, most people will be using CS, although I play CT because I don't have CS (The bros. and I asked for CS for Christmas but got CT instead.)

Actually, If you want to learn Rachel, I'd suggest learning her instead of starting with more "basic" characters. Why? Because she plays very differently from the rest of the cast.

That's the great thing about Blazblue; the majority of the characters play very uniquely.

Yeah, but as of now, I don't even know how the game itself "works". I heard learning more basic characters before you go onto more complex ones for games like this will help you, because you can still use the bare basics from when you were learning the others.

Arakune plays a little like Dormy, too, but honestly he's just as bad as Rachel in CS.
Actually, he has a little MODOK in him as well.

I main Hazama. My strategy mostly involves waiting for an opening to hit them with a BnB combo. If they try to hit me with a projectile, I use Serpent's Infernal Rapture.

Arakune's a weird little fucker. He's extremely mobile, extremely weak, extremely annoying, extremely eldritch, extremely good at controlling space on the battlefield... There's a reason he's my favorite character next to Tager.
