Connecticut Democratic candidates swept all four statewide downballot races by about 53-45 margins. That's George Jepsen for Attorney General, Kevin Lembo for State Comptroller, Denise Merrill for Secretary of State, and Denise Nappier for State Treasurer.

We've also held onto the U.S. Senate seat, for which Linda McMahon mounted a $50-million challenge. And inspite of Republican trends elsewhere, we're on track to keep all five of our Democratic U.S. Representatives in place. Meanwhile, the governor's race has yet to be decided—and it's more likely than not that we'll pick up this seat.

In California, Jerry Brown is now the once and future governor, staving off a $150-million challenge from Meg Whitman! Prop 23 failed (26 won but we'll figure out how to deal with it). And with Barbara Boxer's victory, Carly Fiorina will HEREBY STOP CAUSING ME TO MISTAKE HER NAME WITH A FIRE EMBLEM CHARACTER.

Did they legalize weed? I'm curious.

Fight smart, not fair.

Nah, they didn't. Sorry.

But at least they defeated the dirty energy proposition. And there's always next time, right?

I wasn't expecting the marijuana legalization proposition to pass, but I wasn't expecting it to fail that badly.

The annoying thing is that I've already seen one headline with the words "Up In Flames" today.

Maryland, too. Thank god, Ehrlich once increased college tuition by 40%. I don't want that sort of thing happening again.

Also, a surprising come-from-behind victory—Pat Quinn of Illinois. After being declared a likely loss for weeks.

Now, if only that pesky freshman senator from the same state hadn't resigned from his seat...

As for the Connecticut part: You're welcome.

Although I'm pulling for Foley, Rell did a good job in my opinion.

Also: I didn't like Linda, but she was rather gracious in her concession speech.
