Gabe makes a pretty good point about the 3DS. I personally don't want one because I already have a DS, why would I want to buy a different one that will give me a headache?

Because you want to actually be able to get the latest games?

Ocarina says hi because it's out right now. Those are all coming later.

Oh yeah, Ocarina of Time. . . that I already own.

Really unless they make Pokemon 3DS exclusive I'm never going to touch it. Because that's all I really use it for, that and the handheld Zelda games.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why you don't fuck with Fem!Shep.

New comic.

I have to say, I don't really see what the big deal behind always-online DRM is. I spend 95% of my time on a computer connected to the internet anyway.

The only problem I see with it is if the internet suddenly goes out due to a power outage.

If there's a power outage you can't use your computer anyway, and I have my computer, modem, and router hooked up to a battery backup. If the internet goes out, though, you're hosed.

Yeah, the only time I'm ever not connected to the internet is when my internet goes down. But that's not really Blizzard's fault. But then, it does seem a little excessive. Not that it effects me, considering I won't be buying Diablo III.

The main time I use video games is when my internet is down. So yeah, that applies to me.

I've gotten more mileage out of Angry Birds than I have many full-priced games. So, hey, the ball's kind of in Nintendo's court on this one.
This is exactly like the Amiga PD scene - pay a fiver, get five fun games that weren't the best thing ever. Meanwhile, the PC people were just starting the upgrade race.

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

I take the middle ground. I pay 2.50-9.99$ on a steam sale for a generally REALLY GOOD indie game.

To be fair, the website only went up today (I think). If there's sufficient demand for it I imagine they'll ad it at a later date.

Okay, here's a funny story.

I've been reading Penny Arcade for almost as long as I've been following gaming news, so when my mom offered me the other half of the panini she got at the mall I immediately thought of this.

Thank you for that lovely mental association, Gabe.

[up][up] In the context of that (genre of) videogame, 'feeding' is dying alot against the opposing team. Whereby kills earn you gold with which to buy upgrades, a well upgraded opponent is said to be 'well fed'. Some (griefers) will do this on purpose.

Griefing is one reason why I rarely play online shooters unless it's with a known group of friends. I don't want to become Gabe.

@Internet DRM: Most of the time, I have no internet issues, so I'm good. Other times, I'll be left with a good portion of my Steam library unusable, but that's why I get offline Freeware games and I enable Offline Mode.
