Current one seems to rely partly on the text...: Evilly Affable

Just holding someone by the hair isn't necessarily a demonstration of EXTREME evil, and the "funny" part seems to be based on the text within the image, as in, the speech balloon "I was joking about killing you."

I happen to think this one of Scar from The Lion King would be a more fitting page image. It shows someone hanging for dear life off the edge of a cliff, and Scar's facial expression while standing over the cliff is both amusing AND indicative of considerable evil. Of course, those familiar with the context know he's just noticing that this feels familiar for him, but even those who aren't could interpret it as openly wondering whether he should save the guy's life or let him fall off the edge of the cliff... that could be considered even worse.

That isn't a clear image. Didn't know someone was hanging from a cliff until it was pointed out, and nothing about the lion at the top says evil or affable.

Agreeing with Fast Eddie. I know it's Scar, but he looks like he's going "Durrr...."

... I thought Evilly Affable meant amusing-but-otherwise-monstrous villains, not affable villains. o.o

Also, by "not clear" do you mean too blurry, or not making obvious enough that someone is holding on to the edge of a cliff?

^A little of both. Also, I think this trope is going through a redefinition in the Trope Repair Shop, so we might want to wait for that to finish up before we look for an image.

If a good pic of Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist can be found, I'd say it's the perfect character for representing the trope.

I thought we could use The Joker for this, but so far I'm not having much luck. This might work, or someone with Photoshop skills could edit the bottom panel of this so the speech bubble fits more properly.

Yeah, wait 'til the Evilly Affable conversation in Trope Repair Shop makes a decision. We may not even need a picture for that page.

If we're to use one of The Joker, I think we should use one that actually demonstrates his evil AND his humour in the pic, without requiring familiairty with the character, let alone recognition of him. Maybe one of Joker throwing Rachel Dawes out of a window with a smile on his face while he does it?

That said, like others have suggested, maybe we should wait until a solid definition is decided on before deciding on a pic for it.

How about John Simm's master giving his thumbs up while everyone dies of gas?

Ladies, Gentlemen, Zoidberg, the ONLY ONE whose image can accurately represent Evilly Affable is Reaver, from the Fable series of games. The next link shows the character in action. Take a look at the comments section. Almost every single comment is praise for Reaver... despite the fact that he shoots an innocent man three times, for daring to defend his human dignity and that of his fellow workers.

Videos aren't pictures. Fandom doesn't contribute to being a picture that helps explain the trope.

I'm certain there's an image of The Joker doing something horribly evil but at the same time disturbingly funny.

There is a TRS thread about this article, it is being defined and renamed; better to wait on picking an image I think.
