I'm a compulsive corpse collector too. I go out of my way to gather corpses even after paying the debt. It's fine in the 8 day run as long as you don't collect extra corpses in return visits to caves. And even then there's quite a bit of wiggle room since the cavern doesn't suddenly end at 10,000 Pokos.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The challenge stages were pretty cool, I do admit. The lack of Water power in earlier games presumably means the Water challenge stage will not be included... Thank all that is holy.
I genuinely enjoy the Sword, Bomb, and Hi-Jump ones, though.

Ssssso. Uh. Does anyone here have any knowledge of or experience with the Pikmin e-Reader game/puzzles?
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI hope they improve the Pikmin AI in the new one. Because, when the girlfriend of my brother played the first Pikmin-game, her Pikmin got stuck very often, prompting my brother and myself to growl 'Pikmin AI...' very often.
Been playing Pikmin 1 (for the first time in a couple years) this morning.
...People who get 0 deaths are insane. I understand that it is theoretically possible, but I just don't see how to avoid a few being killed by the frogs in the third area.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!I've never really been a professional Pikmin player—the fastest I've managed to get all the parts is 16 days, seven over the target for intermediate players. I have gotten all the no-death runs in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode, though, and my brother thinks me insane for that, so I guess that's something.
Ninja'd.
That's the one into which you can only bring blue Pikmin, right?

I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!I haven't done anything impressive in Pikmin 1, but I've done no-death runs and the 8 day run in Pikmin 2.
It's easier in Pikmin 2 to do those because of caves providing save pointsm mid-day, as well as areas with no time limit. Caves in the 8-day run are basically the same as in a standard no-death run aside from having to make certain decisions regarding Candypop Buds and defeated enemy corpses.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I haven't read Pikipedia in a while—is the 8 day run for paying off the debt, or collecting all treasures?
BTW, I think my record time (by which I mean I've only done it once) for collecting all the treasures is twenty-something days. I think it was 24, but it was definitely less than 30. (Yeah, I kind of suck compared to most people here.)

Ah, there is where I am going wrong. I'm waiting a bit to long.
Though my comment still stands. There are a LOT of ways to lose 1 or 2 Pikmin with little-to-no warning. I lost a few when fighting the groups of little bugs that crawl out of the ground with no idea exactly why I lost them. Though that might be more because I zerged them than anything else.
Also, getting those 25 flower Pikmin on the first day took me a little while... kept pulling one too early or left the game running a bit too long and had to start over or wait again.
I've only played through the game once or twice. My one saved file has me at 29/30 at 24 days. I'm hoping to do a little better this time. (though, it being a few years, I do not remember where everything is. I had NO idea where the bomb rocks in the 3rd area were and am still not sure I have found all of them. Not to mention forgetting how hard it is to take a group of Pikmin around that area and which walls/bridges need to be dealt with.)

Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Day 1 and 2 are scripted as usual, Day 3 had you getting everything in Awakening Wood that doesn't require Yellows and Blues, Day 4 has you getting assorted items (Not everything, since that's pretty impossible) in Perplexing Pool, Day 5 is the return to Awakening Wood to finish it completely, Day 6 is finishing Perplexing Pool and paying off the debt, Day 7 is finishing Valley of Repose, and day 8 is all of Wistful Wild.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Oh right, it would have to be all the treasure, what with it being possible to pay off the debt on day three because of Emergence Cave.
I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!I'm trying to remember when I had my debt paid off by in my second run of Pikmin 2. Day 10, I think? Not bad, but I see no need to rush.
