What do you mean by 'medieval'?
The pencil colouring... is an ongoing issue. You're right, it ought to be smoother and I'm not very good at it yet - I haven't had any lessons or anything. I will definitely check out that tutorial tonight - thanks!
Yes, that's the right positioning of her legs. I took a photo of myself in that pose with a skirt on to use as a reference. I think maybe I did something wrong with the folds on the top of her left thigh?
Be not afraid...It took me a while but I finally hit upon what's up with that drawing.
- The eyes are too far up.
- The neck is way too close to the chin. It's hard to describe, but the front of the neck should be parallel to the end of the eye...if that makes sense.
- The back of the neck also looks like it starts parallel to the ear. It's farther back to support our giant brainiums. Here's a nice pic so you know what I mean.
◊
- Lips don't jut out that far, unless you're pursing them. There's this lip...line...thing that does jut out, but not the actual lip. Reference
◊.
- When hair is combed over like that so it curves on top of itself, it's usually looser and more strand-y, but you treated it as one giant slicked down mass. Dark streaks indicating varied shadows may help.
- Noses...eh...methinks that you return to your default memory of noses rather than actually seeing what they're shaped like. Take a nose off of GIS and study it, trace it even. Nostrils don't look like that.
- Ear is misshapen and slanted. I know they're difficult but it looks really crude for the realistic style you're attempting. Again, study off of GIS if need be.
- Shading: Barely there. Don't be afraid to be daring with shading. Passing knowledge of muscle structure helps when knowing where shadows fall. I also like to scribble a mini sun where the light source is so I won't forget.
Aaaand this became 10 times longer than I thought it'd be. As for my drawings...realism attempt
and fallen angel
. Have mercy and ignore the 'water' there plz. Go ahead and murder them people

The realism attempt looks a bit odd, mechanically. Like, the expression looks kinda dough-y. Ever play the sims? Sorta like that. Other than that, it looks more or less fine.
Now, the "Lena" one.
For one, it seems kinda on the short end, considering how many heads people should reasonably be (5-6). Her torso especially, it seems a bit small, but that could just be me. Also, you probably already know this, but her pinkie fingers are rather a sore sight. Also, unless she is really light, I think the wings need to be bigger if she plans on flying with those things. The hair is uneven. You seemed to want to draw the hair on both ends, even though one is pulled back behind her ear. If that makes any sense.
I'm mostly an amateur though, so I could be wrong.
You might want to post a desire for good points the next time you post art, since that's usually not a given here.

Read my stories! For the shading technique, don't be afraid to use hard-edge shadows. The placement of the shadows is more or less correct—I'm not great at this myself so I can't tell whether it's truly perfect or not—but it looks very blurry. Blending should be used, of course, but not always to this extent.
Tumblr here.^^ This realism pic is my 2nd try...loads better than my first...I don't want to talk about that one. And shoot, I had a sinking feeling I've been drawing torsos way too small, so not surprised you commented on it. Gotta fix that~
Aum...workin on hands...she's a magical being who lives in the clouds, so I think she's cool as far as wings go (she's floating right now)...oh! Hair isn't lopsided either, or at least not as much as it looks right now. She has a fluffy hairstyle where one half's behind her ear and the other half's in front of the ear, sort of crowding around her face. Here
^ I like shading with the airbrush tool, (maybe not the best idea) but I can do hard edge.
(I've heard it referred to as cel-shading too.) Feel free to critique that one as well. You'll probably see the tiny torso thing again. If you're severely confused about the light source, it's supposed to be vaguely between the guy and girl splitting center.

Ah, ok. I just know from experience that people tend to draw hair on both sides of the head, no matter how much the angle disagrees with it. So long as you know what you're doing.
Not bad though. One thing I noticed, you really like the pointy noses. Do you draw any other types? I reccomend mixing them up.

Read my stories! Is there nobody waiting to be critiqued at the moment?
Anyway, could I have some advice on this
◊ picture, made using an old photo of myself as a reference.
It's an OK drawing, but her torso and arms are kind of flat and "noodly" looking. The dog looks okay, but I haven't really tried to draw a dog before, so I don't have any advice for that.
I did this
on scratchboard yesterday. I kind of screwed up her face, so I just went over it until it looked... different or more stylized. I would have kept her face unscratched, but I messed up trying to add shading and compensated.
I understand the arms, but how can a torso be noodly looking?
There's something not quite right about the torso of your drawing, I think. It looks like the breasts are facing square forward while the shoulders and the waist are angled to the side a little. Also, I think the waist is a bit too thin for the chest.
I think you did a good job on getting it to look three-dimensional, though.

Be not afraid...@Loni: Adorable dog! Your best work with perspective is there; the perspective of the left arm and legs is awkward, with the latter looking twisted compared to the torso. The proportions for the person are roughly right, though I would perhaps make the head a little longer. The hair is nice. The right arm does look noodly - define the elbow and shape the lower part, and it should work out.
@Beary: I'm afraid I don't know much about scratch-board art. The only suggestion I can give is perhaps to leave more dark parts on the face, to give it more depth.
I haven't done any real art recently, except for some
doodles
. Someone can choose one to comment on if they like, or consider my spot open to post a new artwork.
I drew Juan!
Um... thoughts?
Ah, sorry... >_< was bit hurried.
First pic is really good! Might want to lower the lady's right foot a tiny bit, but otherwise fantastic!
Confined to my phone at the moment, so can't see the second pic for some reason... :/ will hopefully be able to soon!
Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science.I don't see anything wrong with the pic above other than the nose's style contradicts the coloring style. I'm not expert though. I think the proper way to use lines in this setting would be to make them a very brown, but I may be wrong. I'm not familiar with this art medium.
What do you guys think of this monkey design? Black and white ink.[1]
◊
I'm getting ready to draw some sequential art, but need to know if the style is fine or if something's wrong with it.
Style looks fine as long as you can be consistent with it, but I'm having trouble figuring out which way she's facing. It's the location and positioning of the tail and of the leg on the left side of the page (i.e. her right leg) that's throwing it off, I think.
Tumblr here.hey...finally updated my webcomic, if anyone wants to give it a look.
I looked at the first page.
That colouring does not look good. The colour palette is bad and the whole thing looks very muddy, slap-dash and unprofessional. Same with the inking, but while that one could be excused as a stylistic choice, the colouring is simply bad (I can see what style you're going for there, but you aren't really succeeding). The typesetting is also very bad, that font is too huge, the way it bumps into the edges of the badly-drawn speech bubbles does not look good either.
If we ignore all that, then the comic is planned out well, I guess. It did not leave me confused, everything was very clear and the story is easy to follow.
I IMPROVED!! JACKPOT!!!!!
What do you think!? I have reached a new plateau!! Overnight! If I improve even further then- !!!!!
Tumbril: The monkey girl has a weird, rotational, flexing body as seen here: Monkey Flex!
◊ She can cause disorientation to her opponents. :X Although, that is exactly how she looks like, so I can't really fix it. XD Even people in-story don't know if she's facing right, left, forward, or back. Her thumbs are the key[except the thumb on the tail.]

My Twitter!

It looks very flat, medieval-style.
Also, I'm not sure about that pencil colouring, it just doesn't look professional. It could, but it doesn't. This tutorial is pretty good: http://lienwyn.deviantart.com/art/Coloured-Pencil-Tutorial-2-190632982
Also, I can't quite figure out what that girl's legs are doing under that dress. I suppose she's sitting like this
◊, but then her left thigh is bent weirdly upwards, or at least, it seems to be.
