Rice Boy is the goddamn shit. It's the first webcomic that I ever bought the book compilation, and I have never regretted it. It holds a place of display on my bookshelf.

Dahm does Order Of Tales which is also good.

I'd call it a good example of how to write "out-there" fantasy without being so out there as to lose the reader's interest. A lot of it has to do with how the characters' thoughts and motivations are clearly understandable, even though their origins and physical natures tend to be obscured.

I love Rice Boy. It's trippy, fun, grand in scope, and rather tragic.

Why yes, I am re-reading it right now.

An useless name, a forsaken connection.

It's a very good example of a good Hero's Journey comic, and it has a neat art style, but even though I have finished it I didn't find it either original or satisfying. It had everything that the Chosen One story needed, but that formula itself is somewhat tired, which is why I found myself unhappy with the story in general. Nevertheless if you somehow didn't have your fill with this type of fantasy yet, and you allow yourself to be enchanted by the world rather than bothered, then it's a top-notch webcomic still.

If you liked this one at all, absolutely read Order Of Tales.

I can't comment on Vattu yet because I still have no idea where it's going.

Over a year since this thread was last updated, jeez. Anyone here been keeping up with Vattu? Chapter 3 began recently.

I read through this, and while it was good, it's true that it wasn't exactly satisfying. Not to mention it got way too trippy at times.

(also I feel a certain book series did the twist way better)
