This thread is for quick questions. A "quick question" is a question which has a relatively quick, generally factual answer; a question which is not likely to inspire an extended discussion.
e.g.
Quick Question: How tall is an average ten-year-old boy?
Not a Quick Question: Why are Americans obsessed with guns?
Quick Question: Why is ALS sometimes called Lou Gehrig's Disease? Who was Lou Gehrig?
Not a Quick Question: In Alan Dean Foster's Thranx Commonwealth series, is Pip a Mary Sue?
Get the idea?

I Googled it, because this is the first I've ever heard of it, and some sources suggest that taking daily sodium bicarbonate supplements, which is prescribed in some cases of chronic kidney disease, can increase the chances of calcium oxalate kidney stones forming. But this isn't a concern if you aren't on a baking soda tablet regimen for kidney disease (do not try this or just start eating out of the Arm and Hammer box without professional medical supervision), because even if you need to take antacids (which contain sodium bicarbonate) on a daily basis, the proper dosage is half that of what's prescribed for kidney disease, and the average person doesn't consume enough baking soda in a regular diet to get anywhere near the levels prescribed for medical treatment (and that's assuming that cooked baking soda still has any of its medicinal properties, which seems unlikely).
Of course, the simplest way to prevent kidney stones is to drink plenty of water. Caffeinated beverages like coffee, tea, and soda don't count!

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Where's that one TV Tropes forum game where you pick an avatar that you want the above poster to use?

A great Mascot Mook.Yup, TY!
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."For some reason, TV Tropes is switching to Night Vision every time I load page. Anyone know how to fix this? I'm not sure what I did that caused it.
Edit: Now that I messed with the other settings (Show Spoilers, Sticky Header), they also won't turn off... sigh.

A great Mascot Mook.Delete the browser data to TVT.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”It's happening on both Edge and Firefox, so it's not a browser problem. In fact, it's even happening with me logged out.
A great Mascot Mook.It stopped when I deleted tye data, so it is TVT not wishin' to delete the data.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”How do you do a ping on TV Tropes again?
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."~@ /{{Cutegirl920fire}}. See TV Tropes Glossary under "Paging".
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI see, TY! Also this is the first time I got a DM from a ping lol
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Be aware that this doesn’t work on tropers that have special characters numbers in the beginning of their name or tropers with dashes in their names.

Macron's notesAlso it doesn't work in queries as far as I'm aware.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupDoes the USA have income taxes?
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Um, yes, obviously. How else would the country be able to pay for things?
A great Mascot Mook. How high is it?
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”That's dependent on your income
Oh really when?"10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35% or 37% from yearly earnings"
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupUS Federal income tax is a bit too complicated to just give percentages. You pay X% on the first $Y of income, and then above that, you pay a higher percentage on what you make over that. There's multiple income brackets like that, so when you're making a ridiculous amount of money, you pay a very high percentage on only the very highest amount of that income.
Or at least that's how it's supposed to work, but the richest people can hire accountants to make their income look smaller than it really is.
Well, I think they didn't impose an income tax permanently until one of the world wars. In the beginning, most national expenses were paid from import duties. Also Texas has no income tax but a surprisingly large state apparatus. They pay for stuff through sales tax, property tax, and charging fees on services.

Fresh-eyed movie blogAre there any forums dedicated to posting art? I'm a digital artist and I'd love for a place to share my work :D
cheeseWhy is the strikethrough forum-only?
To stop it being used on wiki where it was misused
New theme music also a boxYou can still find strikethrough markup on old pages, and the majority of them contributed nothing of value to the wiki.
@Le Garcon
Can you explain why? Or is there more to it than that? The answer doesn't have to be anything too elaborate given the thread that we are on.
