I've taken this test twice over the last week. So far, the result changed just a little from the first time I took it.

Here it is. C'mon. You know you want to see it.

I tend to be suspicious of these kinds of things because of all of the straight yes or no questions. Typically my thought process is a bit more complicated than that. I also barely know what this kind of stuff means anyway and I highly doubt this proves that I or other people have one of these disorders.

Paranoid: Low

Schizoid: Moderate

Schizotypal: Moderate

Antisocial: Low

Borderline: Low

Histrionic: Moderate

Narcissistic: Low

Avoidant: High

Dependent: Low

Obsessive-Compulsive: Moderate

Here is my depression score, but I think it means even less than the other test.

Major Depression: Slight-Moderate

Dysthymia: Slight-Moderate

Bipolar Disorder: Very Slight

Cyclothymia: Slight

Seasonal Affective Disorder: Very Slight

Sounds about right, given that I have generalized social anxiety disorder (which is what most avoidant people are diagnosed with instead, since insurance rarely covers Axis II disorders).

Really, there need to be in-depth tests for each disorder. Most people don't even have any personality disorders and can still turn up as "high" for many of them on these amateur tests.

  • Paranoid: Low
  • Schizoid: Moderate
  • Schizotypal: Moderate
  • Antisocial: Low
  • Borderline: Low
  • Histrionic: Low
  • Narcissistic: Low
  • Avoidant: High
  • Dependent: Low
  • Obsessive-Compulsive: Moderate

I'm more surprised by the fact that I'm coming up with less than other tropers than anything else.

Of course, the reason I scored 'High' on Avoidant and 'Moderate' on Schizoid, Schizotypal, and Obsessive-Compulsive is because I have severe social anxiety and OCD, which the test doesn't know.

Edit: Depression test:

  • Major Depression: Moderate
  • Dysthymia: High-Moderate
  • Bipolar Disorder: Slight
  • Cyclothymia: Slight-Moderate
  • Seasonal Affective Disorder: Very Slight

Rule number one: If the only options to the question 'Is life worth living' 'yes or no', the test is bollocks.

There is also a problem with massively overlapping disorders.

If you test positive for all personality disorders, does that make you insane?

These things just bugs me I've been taking a lot of academic research surveys lately 4tehmoneys, and they always have the same stupidly worded personality questions.

Do you find it hard to concentrate on one thing for a long time?
Do you [action] a lot?
Do you frequently [action]?
How long is a long time? How much is a lot? How often is frequently?

Is your appearance or behavior considered "eccentric" by other people?
When you are talking to someone, do they sometimes have difficulty following your train of thought?
Well, I can't read minds, can I? There's something called Politeness that means people don't broadcast their every negative thought out loud.

Do you often see things in black and white terms? In other words, something either is or it isn't, with no gray area inbetween.
Well, you certainly seem to.

^ Miijhal, that's a specific kind of symptom. Not everyone with a mental illness exhibits it, and it's kind of insulting to the rest to assume that it's all RAUGH DIE GOD HAS TOLD ME TO KILL YOU ALL
