Sealed Inside a Person-Shaped Can tells you what you need to know, I guess, but it also sounds really awkward.

Surely we can do better than this?

Do you need the "Sealed Inside"? Really?

Or does "A Person Shaped Can" sound too much like the Sealed Evil in a Can where the can is a Sarcophagus like device which implies that not only is the person sealed up but they are also sealed up inside in something that completely constricts their form.

Screw it, I'm taking that one to YKTTW, you take your misleading name and can it.

Nice pun. :P

Why not just Sealed In A Person or Sealed In A Man? Still obviously related to the Sealed in a Can tropes, and much more concise and less misleading.

EDIT: Actually, Sealed In A Person sounds like a broader trope, in which the thing sealed doesn't have to be sentient. Broadening it to this might be good.

I'll probably regret supporting Sealed In A Man, but if we're playing off Sealed Evil in a Can we may as well make it a pun.

Third Sealed In A Man; adding "Being" in just makes it more awkward.

And "Person" ruins the pun.

There's your crowner. Fill it in. And "Keep the original name" is not an option. Don't forget to tag the page.

Sealed Evil In A Man.

I'm feeling strangely happy now, contented and serene. Oh don't you see, finally I'll be, somewhere that's green...

What's really wrong about Sealed Inside a Person-Shaped Can that's so horrible?

Nothing practical really, it's just terribly clunky. This is more a Style and Usage fix, only available when caught early.

It's a collective judgment call, but I think this one would have a rough time claiming to be entrenched. Naturally the old name will remain as a redirect.

Are you particularly fond of the old name? Do you see a certain value to it over any of the proposed alternates?

It has 40 wicks if that's any indication of how entrenched or not it is.

I didn't have a problem with Sealed Inside a Person-Shaped Can - I wouldn't have complained about it without a thread like this to prompt me - but yeah, it is awfully clunky. And way longer than it needs to be.

Sealed In A Man (though Sealed Evil In A Man snowclones  *

better) or Person Shaped Can sound good to me.

Do we even do Single Action Crowners anymore? Just curious, as I haven't seen one for almost a month.

Thank you, Known Unknown, for that reminder. This one does need a single prop, because the only reason to rename that's been offered is "it's clunky" which is not a slam-dunk rename like "60% of the wicks are wrong"

Agh, I hate "should we rename" polls that give you no options. Doesn't it occur to people that some of us may consider some new names worse than the original one?

I'd say just lose the "Shaped Can" part (which is indeed unneccessary) and make it Sealed Inside A Person, but if we want to go with theme naming Sealed Evil In A Man (to match Sealed Evil in a Can) would seem perfect.

Vote up names you like, vote down names you don't. Whether or not the title will actually be changed is determined with a different kind of crowner (the Single Proposition crowner). This one just collects and ranks alternative titles.
