Wow. The OP is grating.
I wonder if I can make it better... Maybe dropping the vocals an octave?
I'll give it a shot.
Ecstasy is Sustained IntensityHere's my take
on the first opening, so looks like you've got a competitor.>:)
Yeah, I pretty much agree with the consensus on the new opening. When I first heard the opening song I was quite confused and wondered what it was and why it was so random and chipmunky. Then I realized that an opening like that should not be so unexpected for K-On! being the show that it is. I thought that the animation was good though and I am glad that Azusa actually gets fairly equal time in the opening rather than just being randomly added in.
I thought the ending song was better than the opening's, but the ending animation made no sense to me either. So they are walking through some kind of cake world in which some kind of Queen Ant Mio look-alike lives and then the two Mios grab each other's wrists, right? I guess I must be missing something.
I liked the first episode well enough. It seemed pretty normal, but I am glad that the senior members actually care about how they are going to leave Azusa alone if they do not recruit anyone. Judging based off of my very limited knowledge of the Manga I doubt they will have much success in that endeavor.

I feared a little when they prominently recycled an Azumanga Daioh joke * and then pointlessly spent an absurd amount on time on the school anthem, but thankfully the episode picked up considerably after that.
I tend to think of the OP and ED as being the difference between the two female stars of the band. Lets face it, the star power of After School Tea Time is Yui and Mio. They appeal to two very different types of fans. It's only natural for Yui to sing something like the opening, and then for Mio to sing something like the ending.
If this was actually a real band that could be quite the advantage for early sales by appealing to two different audiences. And then they could have a messy breakup when the differences become too great, and they can both start separate solo careers.
Although, considering the lyrics Mio tends to write she and Yui might be more similar then appearances would suggest. In fact... didn't Yui write a more dark and serious song when they each tried to write a song? Maybe Mio can write the songs that Yui sings, and Yui (and Ui) can write the songs for Mio?
What are we doing anyway analyzing this show so much? I think the "debate" over K-On gets a bit too serious for me. I look at it like cotton candy. You know it's not health food, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.
What.
Anyways, after Smokie's gag sub thing, I feel ashamed of liking Azunyan that most >.>
Ecstasy is Sustained IntensityIt would be pretty great if you could put discussion of each other into PMs, ne? This is a thread about a show about girls with guitars and stuff, so if you're not a girl with a guitar, this thread isn't about you.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.I have a photo of me in a dress, and a video of me playing guitar. They may be separate, but do they still work?
Ecstasy is Sustained IntensityUse the video with the ponytails and the banjo.
(and you can post in threads that aren't about you...)
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.@Sackett I basically agree. I think Yui and Mio being like that was purposeful.
