lolnecro.
Trying Skulltag and Brutal Doo M out. Shit is so cash. Is there any way to make Brutal Doo M use different weapons, though? I know there's one that demonstrates a Quake 4 Railgun...
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gudHey guys saw this bumped thread and thought I'd share Doom 64 Ex with you:
http://www.doomworld.com/vb/source-ports/54058-doom64-ex-2-0a-feedback-build-updated-1-25-11/
Many of you know about the Doom 64 TC that came out years ago. This is an updated version that aims to more accurately re-create Doom 64 for the PC. You'll need a Doom 64 Nintendo 64 ROM to get it to work. You'll also need Microsoft C++ runtime libraries updated or msvcr71.dll in the folder.
You can get all the original music from Doom Depot: http://www.doom2.net/~doomdepot/music.html
Just add the mp3s to the music folder.
For those who have no clue what Doom 64 is, it is a Doom game unique to the Nintendo 64 with all updated graphics, sound, and music. All the levels are 100% original, there are some new enemies and a new weapon as well. I find this to be probably the best Doom singleplayer experience overall... it's pretty creepy actually, I'd say creepier than Doom 3 by far. Pretty difficult as well near the end.
Doom 64 is the best version of Hell ever to appear in a video game. The fire-and-brimstone levels of Doom 3 were such a disappointment after that. I suspect it was inspired by Hellraiser 2.
Except [condescending response follows]. Because [sarcasm here]. You do understand [snark], right? POTHOLE TO SARCASM MODEOK, I;m curious as to the exact list of changes between original doom and the hack that turns almost EVERYTHING into references to something else. (...and evne changes a memetic image for one of the major references into a Doom reference itself!)
I'd do it myself but I will NOT recognise everything.
The main 5 I care about are;
- BFG-9000 = Utsuho's control rod
- skull keys = Chaos Emeralds
- yukkuri Reimu and yukkuri Marisa in the take it easy image that got inserted in some maps = Cacodemon and Pain Elemental.
- Nazi imagery in the bonus levels = Touhou art
and...
and I haven't even played the hack myself. Or even know HOW to play any.

I can tell that one piece of music around... level 27? I htink is basically the music to Lava Reef act 1
And level 30's, fittingly enough, being Necrofantasia.
TARDISES Would you kindly tell us the download link?
Also Stronghold is Awesome http://www.realm667.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=236&Itemid=37

Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5HKZZ7GE
Warning, it replaces Doo M 2. Also, it's amusing and filled with stuff to shoot. Conserve your ammo, though (no, seriously: when you encounter the ECKSBAWKS [Spider Mastermind], you'll probably be out of rockets).
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gudPicked up the first game where I left off, and found that I was sufficiently rusty, started all over again.
Its a good enough game that I'm suffering from Just One More Level! in a time crunch. To make it easier on myself, I made a separate "stupid risk" save file.
How do I make the music a little more m3tulz? (I'm playing it off of Steam.]]
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Anyone knows If I can do anything to improve the visuals and music ala Eduke32 for Duke Nukem3d?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.There are many ways to improve the graphics. I use Z Doom: http://zdoom.org/
You'll need to grab the doom.wad file from your steam folder. Other popular ports include J Doom and Dooms Day, but I think those are more outdated.
^ What?
@Schitzo - No, unfortunately. The most you'll get are updated sprites.
