After a two year break, I finally coloured a drawing in photoshop.
I suppose now I can start figuring out this darn scanner and start putting up more of my stuff online...
Some doodles.
From Comic Idea That Will Never Happen #1: Two Kids and their Zombie Buddy: Dief
◊, the harried, mature one (12 years old); some Dief concepts
◊, plus quick n' dirty concepts for his rambunctious sister Mac (9); and Rob, the zombie buddy
◊ (unknown, about 14 at death).
From Comic Idea That Will Never Happen #2: Captain Adventure!: The Captain!
◊ And failed Captain concepts
◊, plus other doodles.
Random full-body sketch of a GL-inspired kid superhero
◊. He looks irritated.
And now I escape!
I want to get better at drawing my own original creatures and machines, but to start slowly, here is a humanoid alien based off of an anglerfish
◊: [1]
◊
I quite like it. Very interesting.
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."Thanks. And here's an example of the furthest I will dare go into stylization at the moment, a Green-Skinned Space Babe from a series that's been going around in my head lately but has no application right now: [1]
◊
Very expressive.
In that first image, is the girl supposed to look like she is standing on top of the building? If so, she looks like she is floating above it or standing on what is just a picture of the cityscape. Just in case.
In the second, you might want to check the woman's right leg at the lower calf; it looks a bit curved where it shouldn't be.
Here
◊ is how that alien guy's species works from a side view. Yeah, the face, I know. The head thing is like a tail, but out the other end.
And here is another thing.
◊ I was going for a visual representation of psychological injury in general, but came up with a human infant skull with an Archimedes screw harvesting pinballs out of its eye socket. It happens.
Yeah it's art exchange art so the person's character is this girl who's all about the fragile inner mental space and such. I expressed it as a mental world that's collapsing underneath her, so she's supposed to be floating.
Actually the second one there's tons of anatomical problems because I didn't bother to do it very carefully. For example, their arms are all way too short, haha.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in AnimeRemember that thing about that thing about that webcomic? Yeah I deleted all of it.
Then I made this
instead. Please critique it brutally and no sugarcoating. I'm not going to make any more pages until I've gathered a bunch of critique from different sources. Better to fix the issues instantly than let them bloat like the terrible infected wounds upon my art they are.
Should've posted this in the serious thread, probably.
By the way, is anyone else doing the 24 comics/hours challenge? [AOD]? If not then I must officially challenge you to do so.

Wow... You guys are awesome.
So I've finally worked up the courage to plug a couple of pictures

Do you like terrible puns? No? You can have one in your own home anyway!
◊
What does it do when you plug it in? Er...I'll get back to you on that.

Ce ne pas un post.@Tom Js: Better to post it here. That thread is slow as hell, anyway.
Since you asked for it, here's a critique/short liveblogging:
Cover:
I usually prefer black and white, but it looks excellent in color. For some reason, the Scott Pilgrim influence seems to be showing more here than in the concept art, too.
Page 1:
So it looks like we're in one of those cities you see in cartoons that are made entirely from cardboard cutouts with grids drawn on them. I'm afraid your backgrounds need a lot of work - even the moon seems disappointed in this one.
Our protagonist is well-drawn, though - especially the trenchcoat. She has a real Shadow thing going on there, doesn't she?
Page 2:
So, it seems Juni is having a back-alley meeting with that guy from the old Mac OS icons
◊.
Um... If you show up after than the time you agreed to meet, isn't that called "being late?" You can't rationalize that away, Mac.
Side note: Unless there's a very specific reason you don't want kids to be able to read this - i.e.: It's going to get Darker and Edgier as we go along - Obligatory Swearing isn't a good idea.
Page 3:
GUT KICK OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE!
...And it seems either our protagonist's ass functions as a portal gun, or she was kicked so hard that her impact tore a perfectly circular hole in spacetime.
Page 4:
Judging by this page, I think I'm going to go with "both."
Who is this flying, tourist-looking chap? And why does he think being kicked through the fabric of the universe and growing five extra irises is something you can just "deal with?"
Well, at least wherever we are now seems to have happier celestial bodies.
Page 5: So, it seems either Juni is a terrible liar, or the things we've just seen are too crazy to make up. She looks ragged enough to be someone who just fell through a dimensional wormhole, but why are her eyes back to normal? I suppose we'll find out in future installments.

Novel progress: The Adroan, 110k; Yume no Hime, 98k; The Pigeon Witch, on pause at 40k.Thanks, although I'd rather like some more condensed points regarding the flaws rather than your thoughts on every page. Of course, both are welcomed, as this too gave me some perspective of what I need to change according to your reaction.
All of that stuff is going to be explained later on, and a big theme of the comic will be self-parody, especially of cardboard buildings and ridiculous character designs.
And yes, it will get darker. That is mainly why I put that obligatory swearing in there, but I can see how it sticks out from the rest of the material. Also the new site design will be up in a few days, so, there's that. Anyway thanks for the review.

I'm participating in the 100 themes challenge
. Once I wrack up the courage to actually start, I'm going to create a new thread for it so I won't clog this one up, and I might try working on three/four themes a day so it will take one month instead of a hundred days. Depends on how lazy I feel when school starts.
