Okay. ^_^
Also, isn't the defendent supposed to be in prison or whatever until the trial clears? And then have his attorney and their co-council talk to him, to get his side of the story or whatever?
Hey! Read my fanfic: Here@Deadbeat, I figured he would have been arrested after the police came in, claiming that he was just getting there or something.
Hey! Read my fanfic: HereYes is Kyle arrested? If he's not the Defense can't do anything.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Well... It's usually the detective who arrests the suspected murderer on the spot... So... I really think he should have been arrested by now.
Nobodymuch? You have two posts to have Kyle sent to the detention center. There, he can pick to either call a lawyer(if he knows Shields from somewhere) or wait for the state to pick one(in which case, he'd be assigned one at a certain time...)
Hey! Read my fanfic: HereI don't know... Honestly, I don't even know what's with the RP's stand-still. I have nothing to add until Abraham replies... And really, our defense and, by extension, our PI can't really do much until they have a job- in this case, when hired by Kyle... Not that Alex really seems to have a problem with that.
Hey! Read my fanfic: Here... No one's posted in two days in the RP? Seriously? Come on guys, don't let this die on me! T-T
Hey! Read my fanfic: HereWell, I can't really do anything before the trial...
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! It's not you I was wondering about yet, Deadbeat, though I guess I know now why you were waiting...
Still, we're waiting, basically, for two people- slowzombie, for me and possibly by extension Deadbeat, and nobodymuch for the defense team...
Hey! Read my fanfic: HereShelly is still in the car. Harold (last name to be determined) is Mrs Swornshield's attorney. He will not be representing Kyle because:
A: He's a civil attorney
B: There's a potential conflict of interest since he now represents the estate, and Kyle may have killed his actual client
C: He's likely to be called as a witness.
Therefore he hands off to Alexandra.

I see... Well, I guess Shelly will have pieced that together, wouldn't she? So she's probably the one to call the Private Eye... Or maybe Alex just happens to show up next to her as she takes the wheel of the car? And maybe he knows Alexandra?
Hey! Read my fanfic: HereSorry, wrong thread. I reposted it in the main thread.

The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I've been hesitating about filling in the end of his background because I didn't know if anyone was actually going to show up to be a witness or what the GM might have in mind in that regard, but it's time to pin down just exactly who he was with in the bar and who else might be testifying. Maybe each of us should take a witness.
So far apparently we have Shelly, his current squeeze, and the lawyer who will be handling the estate. We should also have someone he's been gambling with. Maybe a couple of someones. And some other family members?

At the moment, the only witness I have planned is a French maid who police already have in custody, claiming to have seen Kyle at the crime scene.
I suspect I'll have to play other witnesses, too, in which case I have a gambler in my head to testify for Kyle's habits. Because these two witnesses are GM characters I really don't want to use for very long, I won't be filling out the profile skeletons for them.
As for evidence, feel free to add things, but any evidence someone adds in, please allow the person to describe it, and how the interactions go. That way, if something is locked/easily broken/really hard to open, then you can know. Just letting that out there.
