It's an uncomfortable reminder of the many, many times my mother has facepalmed at me and then refused to explain why.
My problem is, I do care.
I don't like it when I see the jokes coming, which happens too often. But when I'm surprised by them they can be very nice.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!I find it a little unsettling that only one of the four guys is portrayed sympathetically.
I find it possibly even more unsettling that I can still relate to them better than to many of my peers.
Well, I like it!
oh, I like it.
Two. Leonard and Raj.
The man was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Nobel Peace Prize. He was the best at both killing and not killing - StrangerBesides, this won't be the first sitcom to rely on comedy by giving stupid characters their come-uppance, with only a few characters that you are supposed to feel for.
That being said, I like this series. When watching it with my friend, I said that it was like watching ourselves turned Up To Eleven. They agreed. It is now our collective favorite show.
Heck, it's the only life-action series that I actually enjoy watching.
It's sort of weird. Some episodes are actually really on the money about nerd culture. They've either got some meganerds on the writing staff or they've got some serious consultants, because they make nerd jokes that are actually nerdy and actually pretty funny. They totally defy Small Reference Pools.
And then other episodes, it's like the writers have only ever had minor contact with nerds, making the same jokes people have been making about nerds for the last century or so.
So it sort of varies between being a fairly impressive sitcom and a fairly by-the-numbers one.
Also: Raj is the funniest character on the show. "Let's bounce, bitches!"

If you want to fix your Karma get me my freakin' latte.
I liked the one time Sheldon and Leonard were debating over whose board was better.
"Mine's on String Theory."
"You had to invent five more dimensions for it to work!"
My FF.net accountOriginally they were going to make Penny this grizzeled embittered boarderline alcholic who just used the guys in order to get benifits. However when they took it to a test audience everyone liked the ners and thought that Proto Penny was a cow, so the recast her and made the nerds the focus. Huzzah for test audiences I say. Who would relate to some bitch who maniplutes people with her looks?
Most of the women I've ever met?
What the hell kind of fucked-up alternate reality do you live in?
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!^^ Boy you don't know many nice women...
I think the third season is better than the first two. But the quality still varies wildly from episode to episode, along with the characterizations.
Necroing because it's coming back on Thursday!
I can't wait! I really liked the Penny/Leonard pairing and I hate how badly the break-up was handled. I've been shipping the pair since season 1, so yeah... DAMN YOU WIL WHEATON!
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.Well that was interesting...
Very glad Sheldon decided not to have a baby with Amy. It seemed kind of out of character anyway. I'd believe that he wants his genes to be passed on to another genius, but I just can't see him making a good father. He wouldn't deal well with the crying.
The B plot was hilarious though.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.Haha yeah, I love that sassy nurse they always run into. Glad this show is back!
Rawr!I really liked this week's episode. It was better than last week for sure!
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.@Hopeless - Doh! Watch the episode again when you get the chance. Sheldon wasn't attempting to pass his genes on to another genius, but combine his *with* that of another genius, using a surrogate mother. That is more in line with his personality.
^ That's kind of what I meant. He wanted to make a child with Amy specificly because she's just like him. That part fit him, it was the fact that he was planning to raise the child either alone or with Amy that didn't quite fit. Since he doesn't like loud noises and all. Somehow, I doubt he considered that as he didn't even consider that his religious mother would be pissed at the thought of an out-of-wedlock grandchild.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.Yeah but maybe he thought that the baby would be just like him, being very smart very early and thus not require much care but much education.
You lost!@hopeless - Ah, gotcha. That part I didn't think about.
@Zhe - Sheldon probably thought he didn't need much attention. A few episodes he talks about spending quite a bit time in the hospital or being visited by government agents.
"Not a Snowball's chance in a CAT scanner!" LOL
Anyone see tonight's episode? I officially love Sheldon's mom. She's so much smarter than she looks! It really explains where Sheldon gets it.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.KITTIES!
Rawr!
Really love the series. Too bad, I'm not catching up with Season 3. But yeah, of course I will, sometime in the near future.
I like how Sheldon lacks common sense. (or should I say, common sense of a normal-brained person xD) How about you guys?
Sup Elevens?
