Oh huh, the name of Blackbeard's flagship is Saber of Xebec.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."This whole story makes me think of what Oda said about a legend of the One Piece world showing himself in Wano, or whatever his words were.
I don't think he said Wano specifically, just that a lurking legend related to Whtiebeard would be introduced soon.
Theories are already going around that Teach is a protege, or even a relative, of Rocks, and his ultimate goal in becoming Pirate King is to avenge Rocks' loss to Roger.

God I hope this doesn't result in a Kaguya-ing.

Secret SignatureDoes the timeline line up for Luffy to literally be a reincarnation of Roger?
Only if there's a four/five year delay or otherwise not instantly being born as soon as your past life dies.
Luffy was born approximately five years following Roger's death (it was 22 years ago at the start of the story when Luffy was 17).
I like the detail of Kaido only being an apprentice in Rocks. It fits well with that novel saying he is of a later generation than Whitebeard and Big Mom.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The statement that Kaido and Linlin are much stronger now than they were in their youth was pretty interesting.

The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I don't think Luffy can be Roger reincarnated considering how their personalities differ. Roger was far more vicious at times, with incidents like him slaughtering Squard's crew, and "retreat" wasn't a word in his dictionary (put him in Luffy's shoes at WCI, and he wouldn't have escaped while Jinbe covered for him). They also have fairly different ideas about how to compose a crew.
Marineford and the Goa Kingdom flashback established that Ace was the one who resembled Roger the most.
So ever see one of those fan theories that everyone seems to believe, but then they get proven wrong and looking back you wonder why anyone ever thought they were logical at all?
"The Emperors are so dangerous they wouldn't even bother giving them bounties" is having that effect on me right now.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Assuming Kaido isn't fully human, maybe whatever species he is grows Stronger with Age. Whatever it is about Linlin that made her so unusually strong even as a child may have also given her that trait.
Poor Newgate (Whitebeard) otoh was an ordinary (by One Piece standards) human. Time could and did do its dirty work on him.
The only thing Luffy really has in common with Roger is the same thing a lot of people with the Will of D have — fearlessness in the face of death.

Disgusted, but not surprisedx6
Also explains how he was captured or "defeated" so many times despite the fact that he's so ungodly strong/invincible. It's because he wasn't even in his prime.
G Oda delivers yet again.
So if you, like me, don't keep taps of every single One Piece detail you might have also missed some interesting things like how that Captain John that was a part of Rocks was one of Moriah's top zombies and also it was his treasure that Buggy is searching for.
Shiki also gets a mention. The question of whether or not Strong World is canon to the manga is still confusing.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."The tack I take for the Oda involved movies is that the worldbuilding details are canon, but the events themselves are not.
Although I'm pretty sure Strong World itself is actually canon. At least, I haven't heard anything about it being rendered non-canon, like what happened with Film Z.
Yeah, didn't Oda actually say that he wanted film Z to be canon but he just couldn't fit it in the timeline?
I think that was Oda lying because Gear 4th hadn't been revealed at that point (but was close enough that he almost certainly had thought of it), and the lack of Gear 4th is kind of a big plothole in Film Z.
Plus the extremely tight plotting of the post time-skip arcs makes Z's placement tenuous due to the Straw Hats being separated constantly.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's probably more that the crew has been wrapped up in a single plotline that started with Law's alliance back in Punk Hazard with no time to spare in extra quests, so Film Z would need to happen before that. However, we also know they went to Punk Hazard immediately after reaching the New World, so...it just can't work.
Whereas with Strong World you can place it between Thriller Bark and Sabaody fairly naturally as long as you ignore some small inconsistencies like Zoro's injuries.
It's not like good people in bad crews is anything new in OP. Just look at Gin, Hachi, and Mr 2.
