Just checked the chapter untranslated. Hawkins does indeed say the Seaprism Stone use all over the world is "born" in Wano. Whatever could this wording mean.
Going by today's episode it seems Sanji saw pound get killed. I can't remember if they showed that in the Manga too.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"I haven't seen the episode yet to see what goes on there, but in the manga he doesn't appear in that sequence at all.
You know, in that sense Pound's practically Deader than Dead by One Piece standards: everyone save for his infant grandson has completely forgotten him.
EDIT: Saw the episode. Looks less like Sanji actually saw Pound die and more like he was simply sensing a disturbance in the Haki Force.

My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsBy the way, going back to Law for a sec... do we know what, exactly, his endgame is now? "Help me take down Kaido" was, at least initially, a ruse to get Luffy to help him with his actual plan, namely baiting Kaido into bumping off Doffy for him, and yet Doffy's now long beaten and Law's still here. So what's he up to?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Becoming Pirate King. That's also a thing he was legitimately interested in.
I wonder how long it'll take for him to realize that he Piccolo'd himself.
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsHe should have seen that when Luffy folded a city in half.
& Also, because Luffy screwed up the plan by definitively beating Doflamingo, Kaido has Luffy and Law in his sights. Law is extra invested in this alliance now because either Kaido dies or he kills them all.
Maybe, but it did seem like he was looking at the shore.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"
Yeah, not to mention he never actually met Pound personally himself.
I'm sure Pound and Pedro and jellybean-through-the-head-man are all alive because this is One Piece.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."In this case scenario, I think they are going to be the exception.
I'm 95% on Pedro being actually dead. Pedro's death got more attention than anybody else who "died" in the One Piece present other than the two who are guaranteed dead; his death scene played out more or less like a flashback death.
With Pound, though, I'm getting Pell vibes. There's no way he should have survived, but also the story doesn't need him to be dead in order to proceed, so he'll just show up again fine and dandy without explanation at some point.
Jellybean guy may or may not be mentioned again, but I'm reminded of that one marine who got killed by Morgan and then showed up in a billion chapters later. If anything, I kind of expect that to happen again here.
Re: Seastone, the official English translation of Hawkins' line reads as follows: "The Sea Prism Stone throughout the world was born here, in this country. Only in Wano can you find the artisans capable of fashioning it this small"
Could it be possible that seastone is entirely artificial and was first manufacturered in Wano? These are the same stonemasons that created the Poneglyphs, after all. It's hardly outside the realm of possibility.
The process is difficult, which is why there's not a huge amount of it, and the secret is known to the World Government, which is why it's most commonly seen in either their hands or those who are connected to them, barring black market connections.
Speaking of which, how the heck did Law get away with Hawkins right on top of him and a Sea Stone nail in him?
That cut was so sudden it had me wondering if a page was missing.
I guess it's possible Hawkins intentionally let Law go, and is only pretending right now. I think it's too early to say though.
Sky islands are created when an element contained in the Seastone called 'pyrobloin', ejected into the air by volcanic eruptions, comes in contact with water vapor. This heavily implies that Sea Stone is a natural resource. I just checked the wiki and according to them, Sea Stone occurs naturally.
This is definitely a plot hole. There also needs to be an explanation on how the World Government got its hands on such huge quantities if Wano had always closed its borders and maintained an isolationist policy.
Black market dealings ala Kaido.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Didn't know that. Was that explaination from Jaya, do you know?
Didn't Wano only close its borders twenty years ago? The WG could easily have amassed a big stock before then.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."As far as I remember Wano's borders have been closed much longer than that; twenty years was just when Oden first started thinking of opening them.
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsI wouldn't be surprised if how the WG gets its simply of seastone is a future plot point to be revealed.
So I'm not ready to call this a plot hole just yet.

They clearly have a country of pure seastonenwhere they have thousands of slaves mine it away ala Robin and the bridge built by thousands of slaves over generations.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. They obviously massacre hundreds of Sky Islands daily to get one kg of the stuff. Also they eat their sky babies and bathe in their sky puppies's blood.
Secret Signature
All versions I read so far said that sea stone itself originates from Wano and not just the crafting techniques. Unless they all mistranslated, this is either a mistake, a retcon or just an oversight from Oda.
