Backup girl for Sanji to swoon over in 8 or so years if Nami or Robin die?
That's...is that actually a theory going around? Because yeesh.
Disgusted, but not surprisedwho is n°2?
I wonder, what role could be missing in the strawhats?
Makes sense. I wonder how a reindeer-whale shark stew with dango tastes like

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upNumber 2 is Jinbe.
The big one that gets discussed the most these days is lookout. Mostly cause that's what Carrot was doing for most of this arc's sailing time, but I've seen it pop up in years past every now and then.

My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsYeah, that's the only one I can think of too. So far, if I recall, Usopp mostly did thas job (being a sniper, he has a good eyesight, and he also did the shipwright job before Franky joined) but now is Carrot doing her job, and I also think that, so far, she seems the most likely candidate for a new strawhats (especially because Mink is one of the few missing races)

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upHm, since it's timely, one of the things Oda says in the 21st anniversary interview is that he's been omitting Jimbei from color spreads because he doesn't want to spoil a "surprise" about his status since the Totland arc which can mean anything from Homie Jimbei to him just getting away in one piece. Also, "more characters" will join the crew and the story's 80% done. Take those as you will with the necessary skepticism/salt pinches required given Oda's track record/translation concerns.

My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsWhat do you mean "one of the few missing races"? The Straw Hats are 80 to 90 percent human, depending on whether you count Jinbe yet or not.
He will lose an arm or a leg. I can feel it.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Among the races I count those in the grand fleet too (therefore there are giants, longarm, longleg and dwarves)
The missing ones are minks (they're allied with the mink tribe but they're not officially subordinates), longnecks (and we actually haven't seen one yet in the serie, only Big Mom's children, which are hybrids. Unless I've missed someone in Tottoland's background) and three-eyes. And technically the "sky people" (that are divided into Skypieans, Shandians and Birkans)
Oh and mermen
And, yes, the great majority of the fleet is still composed by humans, but I like that there are members of nearly all races (or species if someone prefer this term) in contrast to the World Government's apparent racism

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upI'm of the opinion that Jinbe if a guaranteed bar death or being brainwashed, and that Carrot's chances (either joining the crew proper or being part of a Mink crew in the Grand Fleet) are rising with every page. But those two are the only ones with any chance.
Speaking of which, Nothing precludes Luffy (or more likely, the minks themselves) from inviting a Mink pirate crew into the Grand Fleet.
Wow, we really are at endgame now. 80% done.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."If Oda is saying he's only keeping Jinbe off of cover sheets to hide a secret, then it isn't a question of if Jinbe will join anymore; to Oda Jinbe already has. Personally, I thought that "I'm your captain now!" moment by Luffy made that pretty clear.
Carrot is very possible, but it's weird to say they're the only people with a chance, when we've barely meet anyone from Wano.

Come to think of it, the last "progress report" before this one was that the end of Zou was the 70% mark, right? So we've done 10% more in two years and three months. So if Oda goes at the same pace... only 4-5 more years of OP.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."yeah, there can easily be other characters from Wano we haven't seen yet, it's just that, so far, Carrot seems the more likely one (To me)
Mmmh I think we have more than 4-5 years... considering 600 was halfway through, we have nearly 300 chapters left (at least, because in my opinion there will a few more arcs after Wano, which is gonna be pretty long), considering every year we get roughly 40 chapters, there is still something like 7 years
This not counting how often the arcs ended up longer than what Oda expected

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give up"More likely one" still implies there are other options. There aren't other options right now, is my point (and even if there were, the answer could also be "none of them").
And I don't understand why anyone takes these "how much of the story is done" comments seriously. And it's strange to say there might be "only" four or five years left. This story has been going on for over 20 years. That's way longer than most of them get.
Edited by LSBK on Jul 21st 2018 at 4:41:52 AM
exactly, there can be other options, including "no one"
I never take these "X% complete" seriously, in fact, if Luffy defeats Kaido (which can't happen in "only" 40 chapters) we still have 3 emperors to go, and this only counting the "Luffy will fight the 4 emperors" plot, since, for istance, we also have to know what happened in the void century, and Oda said the final war will be huge (and there are other minor subplots)
So, either Oda goes into an ultra rushed pace, or the series is likely never gonna end in 4-5 years
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upMy guess is that Jimbei will make his color cover debut as a Straw Hat when he gets his "Ninth Person" chapter.
I think that's how it worked for Franky and Brook, though I grant that's only 2 out of 9. Nami and Usopp were in plenty of covers before their numbered person chapters, Chopper and Robin haven't gotten theirs yet, and Zoro and Sanji's number chapters were just regular covers, I think.

I vouch that Jimbei lost an eye and is now wearing an eyepatch.
No, that's so last season. He lost two eyes so he's wearing two eyepatches now!
Oda said he avoids giving eyepatches to the characters because it's too much of a pirate classic and wants to keeps it for an important pirate
