IIRC when this came up on the thread, it was like a brief nonexplicit reference to the pubescent character masturbating, right?
I'm more concerned about our stance on CWC stuff.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I don't think that's what Mew was suggesting? The current stance is that we treat Christine like we treat Fight Club - don't talk about it. So it makes works like this a bit sticky. But it seems to just a dark comedy so I think it's fine anyway.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallYeah, what I meant was "the issues with CWC discussed in other fora are more likely to affect this fic than the single masturbation reference." And even that's still not guaranteed.
My point is that the masturbation reference is not an issue, nor even the fact it's about a parody of a real person.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I stand by what I said when I originally reported this. The masturbation scene alone should kick this off the wiki, because it's a preteen depiction of a real person engaging in sexual activity.
(Plus, after I reported it, that other CWC drama happened, but that's not the scope of this forum.)
2025: the year it all ends? But it's technically a parody of the real person, right? It's insulting but we don't count that for the policy. And she was an adult when the fic was written so it's not like it was even sexualizing someone who was a real child.
I remember discussing this and it was discovered that it was like... one paragraph and not even super explicit. Can we revisit the actual fic again for context?

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I can't find the paragraph supposedly depicting him masturbating with a quick CTRL+F though the work (I did find two sentence that clearly mention he does masturbate, but neither I'd call a depiction), and I'm not in a mood to read closely through the 20 000 words of CWC right now. But even though his character is based on things that happened to the real CWC after high school, fanfic!CWC is clearly underage. Both per rules of harry potter canon, and a line referring to him as a "a 10-year-old [who] had no other sexual outlet".
Given the general tone of the story I don't expect I'll want to cut it for pedo-pandering (I can't agree with a an unconditional cut on any discussion of 10 year old masturbation given that can happen IRL, and this one does probably is not trying to get the reader masturbating. I can't call it a "serious" treatment, but I think it's established that's not a necessary criterion to avoid getting cut?) even if shown the paragraph in question, but who knows? Everything else, while I'd like to discuss it, is above this subforum's pay grade.

If we can trope South Park and Big Mouth then I don't think a brief mention of a preteen boy masturbating is cutworthy.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. Also something existing purely to insult a real person being grounds to cut a work would mean cutting any show like Our Cartoon President or The Prince (2021) (which makes fun of a real child).
Once Upon A Time.~Scarleteyes, where is the masturbation scene?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanUh, yeah, with that this is definitely a "keep" case.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallHere's the scene paradisedj32 mentioned. At the start of chapter 2:
Another school day; in other words, another day of hell. Chris oozed out of bed and started looking for socks. He found a pair under his bed and, after using a pencil to scrape navy off one of them, put them on. Chris was used to navy-crusted socks, because a 10-year-old had no other sexual outlet that was satisfying to the point where it would be difficult to pass off as an accident. He'd pledged not to ever tell anyone he mass debated before the age of 16.
When he was dressed he went down the hall into the kitchen. The table was almost hidden beneath all the Chandlers' junk and food. It looked as though Barb had made an early-morning trip to the thrift shop.
Just then, Barb wheeled in a kid's bicycle. "Enjoy, kid," she said, and left without another word.
Exactly what Barb expected Chris to do with a bicycle was a mystery to him, as he was very fat and hated exercise — unless of course it was strictly exercising his wrist. Perhaps it had something to do with living behind several layers of thrift store junk, but Chris had always been able to get in a quick stroke whenever he pleased. He was so good at danger wanking it's a wonder his right hand was as limp and weak as his left.
Yeah, that's probably tamer than a lot of teen-centric works are when it comes to this stuff, honestly.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallYeah, keep, I've read stuff more explicit in Light Novels. Non-ecchi ones even.

Trust me, I'm an engineer!Yeah that’s no more explicit than, like, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian as far as masturbation references go, and arguably quite a bit less (if significantly more mocking). Reaffirming my keep vote.
I'll throw in a keep cookie, as the short paragraphs aren't explicit.
