No but its nice for a trope to have a name that covers the entire range of examples Humanoid Animal does that and I really cant think of anything else that covers it.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Hence the 'not 100% accurate' thing... maybe we're going about this backward? We can label petting zoo people the middle road and the ears and tails crowd can be Cute Animal Traits or something else...
Just, trying to think outside the box.
Who needs a signature, really?![]()
Actually I like that idea. although its more than Tails and Ears... Petting-Zoo People could become rank 2 while Rank 1 could be something else umm Not Quite Human? While we have an index called Humanoid Animal?
Ok nvm on the Not Quite Human thing That's the Index for all this.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Maybe, yeah. Until recently in the thread, I thought Petting-Zoo People meant humanoid animals, not animaloid humans (kemonomimi). I think maybe that mistake caused a lot of misunderstanding about who was saying what. There is way more agreement than disagreement going on here.
(note that Humanoid Animals exists, it's a redirect to Petting-Zoo People... how do I delete it? perhaps Humanoid Animal or Humanoid Animals should be a title or an index or a redirect, but the existing redirect is wrong and confusing from any standpoint)

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Wow there are alot of subtropes to Petting-Zoo People and I think all of them have the types we have been talking about.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!a different suggestion...
- all humanoid animals and animaloid humans (supertrope, no examples)
- Type 1 (just calling it that so we have a name), humanoid animal with low/medium anthropomorphisation (subtrope), e.g. Mickey Mouse or Daffy Duck
- Type 2 (ditto), humanoid animal with medium/high anthropomorphisation (subtrope), e.g. furry-style characters like Freya Crescent or Star Fox
- Type 3, animaloid humans (subtrope), e.g. kemonomimi like Firefox-tan or Kotaro from Negima
- cat girl (maybe a subtrope of the supertrope, but probably just its own thing), cat-themed humanoid animals or animaloid humans, examples from all three types
- bee people (ditto), bee-themed humanoid animals or animaloid humans, examples from all three types
- etc...

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.how entrenched is the name Petting-Zoo People to mean what we have it meaning now? I'd hate to see us cause confusion by redefining an often-used name...
BTW, I'm a chick. All the subtropes seem to cover type 2 I think.
This title has brought 943 people to the wiki from non-search engine links since 20th FEB '09.
- Main/Humanoid Animals
- Main/Kemonomimi
Instead of splitting what if we do the Type A and Type B thing? like Tsundere.
Type A fitting the ones who are hideable and then Type B as the full body workup.
Funny Animal stays the same.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Funny Animal is a bad choice as the over-trope.
The subtropes of Petting-Zoo People suggest making it Type Two (it stays as it is).
Barely Bestial Beings can be the 10% crowd, alliterative appeal being what it is (we can add redirects as needed).
Funny Animals stays as it is.

Who needs a signature, really?^^ So instead of four separate articles for archetype and three special types, one article that describes the archetype and all three special types?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. No what I was meaning this
- Funny Animal stays the same.
- Petting-Zoo People is softsplit into
- Type A the ones with side characteristics such as ears and tail.
- Type B is Freya type.
No new page created. No massive mess of wicks.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Either three articles. Barely Bestial Beings (ears and a tail), Petting-Zoo People (people with animal traits), Funny Animal (animals with a few people traits). Or Raso's suggestion above. Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickNot exactly, it'd be:
- Not Quite Human
- Barely Bestial Beings (ears, tails, eyes, some arm or leg fur or claws)
- Cat Girl is listed here as well as a sub-trope of Petting-Zoo People.
- Funny Animals (Bugs, Daffy, Donald, etc)
- Petting-Zoo People (People that have a roughly human design, but with major animal features.)
- Every subtrope to Petting-Zoo People stay here.
- Barely Bestial Beings (ears, tails, eyes, some arm or leg fur or claws)
^ That's not more complicated. The supertrope there is an index they all fit on. The Cat Girl type articles are subtropes. They can just be linked to the proper supertrope. Otherwise nothing is happening to them.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThe only problem I have with Rakath is that Cat Girl, Peacock Girl, Pig Man, Beast Man you could make a case for both even though the last 2 would vary depending on exactly how they are depicted (I had to look at the wicks closely to see it ><).
Anyway Crowner?

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Then we can list them under both as well, then. I'm not seeing a problem. As all the subtropes of Petting-Zoo People are in the Not Quite Human index.
Who needs a signature, really?Ahh ok I didn't know that they did that since it would be appearing twice on Fantastic Sapient Species Tropes.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Regarding the confusion of cartoon furries with their Real Life fans: Furry Fandom already has a page.
Although it looks like you lot have moved on to trying to find some other name for the category.
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?

I like Fuzzy People. Scaly People and Feathered People could be redirects. The trope name doesn't have to cover all its possible meanings. Many trope descriptions include a paragraph that says "This doesn't only apply to...". Kick the Dog is not only about striking a canine with your feet.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
