The bog-standard vertical suplex is a flat-backed bump, which would be ruled out by that definition. Lots of other well-known suplex variants also drop the target flat on their back (belly-to-belly suplex, northern lights suplex). OTOH, that definition would include powerbombs, which nobody considers suplexes.
I tried to come up with a definition for a suplex myself many years ago, but eventually decided that it was kind of a crapshoot whether a given throw counted as a suplex or not.

The article does not define the word suplex. A quick Google search indicates it is a professional wrestling move but I am not sure I understand exactly how it works. Can some one write a quick definition of the move? It would help with understanding the trope.
