There's a thread for complaining about The Movie (though say anything on the trope page...)
- Upon thought I'd like to see a Crane-Something or a Something-Crane. Their movements are graceful and flowing so perhaps Korra's Team Pet.
I'm sure she'll have a Gaang.
Hmmm I wonder where she'll live. She'll be staying on the city so I guess she'll ahve a residence there, and the Avatar is kind of a big deal so maybe she'll get a big fancy place.
It... doesn't sound quite right, but it's what makes the most sense to me.

Well that's very plausible... and it would free her from having to deal with too much political posturing instead of simply roaming the city.
Still it would depend on the Anti-Bender movement being quite prominent and on Korra's personality for it too work. Aang didn't hide the fact that he was the Avatar way too much and he was being chased in a world ruled by the Fire Nation.
Also I imagine that Tenzin would also be kind of an important figure. Son of the Last Airbender? Could Korra get lesson from him in secret?
Way too many things we don't know and that are making the wait for this series so... much... harder.
The future can't get here soon enough.

LOL at the Korral comment. Wasn't there going to be a character called Meelo? Okay tropers: SPECULATE! My guess? S/he will be a Badass Normal of some sort, since Bryke seems to love especially competent Badass Normals. Perhaps a villain? The main antagonists ARE anti-benders. (Or maybe, as a twist, the anti-benders aren't antagonistic, but just sort of a neutral party that helps or hurts Korra depending on their goals.)

Swordplay and writing blog. Purveyor of weeaboo fightin' magic.^ No, her airbending teacher is Aang/Katara's son. WHY NINJA EDIT
We don't know anything about the antagonists yet. The anti-benders' role is very much up in the air; all we know is they exist. Maybe they're in charge, maybe they're kooks.
Zuko? Not impossible, but unlikely.

Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?^^Most likely, most of the original Gaang should be in their 80s.

GUNDAMU GUNDAMUAs I said on another forum, I will squeal with glee if she makes a reference to a spirit called Zhan Zheng.
I'm wondering what her life was like before she turned sixteen. Parents? Siblings? Friends? Boyfriend? School or other occupation? All we know is that she's from the Southern Water Tribe.
But what really interests me is how she's taken to having to fill Aang's shoes. This guy ended a century-long World War, going from mastery of one element and total inexperience with the rest to mastery of all four in less than a year, when he was biologically and mentally twelve, plus maybe other stuff we don't know about in the half-century afterward. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some insecurity there, especially if she did learn Waterbending from his widow, Earthbending from his own Earthbending master (who invented metalbending on the fly and may be the greatest Earthbender in history), and/or Firebending from his old nemesis, the sister of Fire Lord Zuko — all of whom were child prodigies in their own right.
On the lighter side...
"All right, listen up, kid. While you are learning Earthbending from me, you will address me with the level of respect that is my due. And I get to decide what that means, 'cuz I do whatever I want. Therefore, you are not to address me as 'Sifu Toph.' And you are certainly not to address me as 'Lady Bei Fong.' You will refer to me only as 'Mad Old Toph.' Do I make myself clear?"
@Satanic Hamster: Actually a year passed by the end of the series, so they would be 76 and 73.
For what it's worth, there's a really hi-res version of the press release image at this here site.
Also, Jeremy Zuckerman of the Track Team seems really enthusiastic about potentially returning to score TLoK.
I could see the OWL being a major factor in this series, since they were on the sidelines of the last. Probably good guys, since it's very probable that the protagonists of ATLA are members.
Having just watched the Avatar Extras for City of Walls and Secrets (favorite episode), Tales of Ba Sing Se (Tale of Iroh = the saddest thing in the whole series), and Appa's Lost Days (suprisingly better than I remembered), I could definitely go for a whole season of Ba Sing Se style episodes.
Also, in Appa's Lost Days, one of the extras said: "Spoiler alert! Rumors say that the Airbenders aren't gone. They have "become the wind." But that's just a rumor." F*cking tease.

But they still need to appeal to kids. I expect many Crowning Moment Of Funny scenes.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.
