It's okay, fanfic writers will make it more interesting for us.

I wonder how long people will keep posting in this thread before it trickles off...

Well, we'll just make a new one for the third series.

How did Mako even learn lighning-bending?

How did what was once a secret only known to the Fire Nation's royal family end up with a street urchin?

One of my thoughts while watching the finale that I only just now remembered to post:

Remember that time Lin arrested Korra for slightly damaging an easily repairable road and breaking a window while fighting off the triads? Lin sure as hell doesn't.

[up]Probably the same way the other firebenders at the power plant learned it, which I will headcanon as Varrick.

Or that.[down]

[up][up]Lightning Bolt Zolt taught him.

[up][up][up]We'll probably start discussing more stuff when the Blu Ray for Book 4 is out. There could be some interesting things in the commentary. I imagine discussion on any future comics will also wind up here.

He made peace with being a street urchin. And an orphan.

But where did Zolt learn it from, then?

Mukora: Whoever taught him I guess. Bryke mentioned in the Book One commentary that knowledge of techniques like Lightningbending just dispersed through the population over the years.

[up]I don't think we can say that. Ming-Hua died from it (or should have) and Amon was likely wearing a fire and shock resistant suit. He never hit anyone else with it.

Edit: And they're all "shocks", his never seemed any weaker to me than the others.

If we assume Mako can't do nonlethal lightning then doesn't that mean he killed that one Equalist mook in season one?

I'd just like to say that Book 1 is actually disturbing when one remembers the other meaning of the term bender.

Apparently it's British slang for gay. Which nobody knows, because nobody likes any British person not named Benedict Cumberbatch or Doctor Who.

Honestly I don't care much about Korrasami, mainly because I never cared much about romance to begin with. But I do aknowledge it was a bold move from the writers to stretch Getting Crap Past the Radar so far. Kudo.

What I do feel like criticizing however is the rest of the finale. I honestly felt it was kind of a let-down when it comes to Kuvira. While she did lose her cool a bit, I sadly didn't get the spectacular Villainous Breakdown I was hoping to see, and I feel her Heel Realization was a bit forced considering how far she had gone in her madness. Maybe the whole her being a Well-Intentioned Extremist who just wants good for her empire and is similar to Korra would have worked better if we had more moments of her being a hero in Book 3 in order to solidify this, or even better, if they had avoided revealing she was sending non-Eath Kingdom natives in reeducation camps. But as it is I have a hard time to believe she was that easy to convince. Just saying.

Nothing to complain, on the other hand, about Zhu-Li and Varrick; those two work just as well as before. And I do give credit, the fight scenes agains the Colossus were amazing.

But one downside about this final is to me that it fails to keep the promise the writers made. I mean, they stated it was intended to tie all the lose ends, both in Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. And frankly, it doesn't; if anything it only create more of those.

So, since its pretty much been confirmed, can it go on the Tropes page that Korrasami is official????

I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.
