Why in the name of Haruhi are we talking about this? Seriously, does any of this matter?

You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!

Well, the idea of two people falling in love as cute little children, and then keeping said relationship through adulthood.

That's something I'd like to believe in as well.

I think that's what happens in Nanoha. You'll need to see the rest of it to make up your mind about it, I guess. Not everybody sees Nanoha and Fate's relationship as romantic.

For them to sleep in the same bed and adopt a child together...that seems along the lines of a romantic relationship. Maybe they just get along that well.

Also, there's FAR TOO MUCH FANART (and maybe even some official art?) with scantily-clad Nanoha and/or Fate (or both together).

A lot of official art is like that.

There's even a Fandom Nod in that bed scene, where you see a lot pictures culled from official art put up behind the headboard.

I think they're meant to be pictures of them from their childhood up until the present, in-universe, or something like that.

I'm just not sure there's that much to Fate/Nanoha aside from "Hey, look! Cute!"

Éclair has a bunch of these pictures above the headboard of her bed as well. I actually would love to see this pictures as official art.

I liked the TSAB better when they were more like Starfleet in season 2. In season 3 they are the universe's most schitzoid military. Somehow the military vibe combined with the bright and ludicrous outfits makes me think that the creator's main reason for the genre shift was cute uniforms.

TV Tropes keeps recommending me shows that give me mixed feelings. It bothers me.

To be fair on TV Tropes, it's only a few of us that actually pimp the show.

And Beam Spam, and Super Robot shoutouts, and Wave Motion Guns, and Humongous Mecha...

I think the creator's main reasons for the genre shift were more than just clothes.

Point, point.

How you few people on TV Tropes manage to pimp the show so much baffles me.

Well, whether one likes it not is a separate issue, but it employs quite an eclectic mix of genre conventions.

It's just how a matter of well you think it does so: some find it refreshing, others see it as generic.

I thought A's was a lot of fun, at least.

Striker S was tedious, though, and the only character I think I really liked from it was Subaru. I liked her design.

I loved StrikerS, but it would have been vastly improved with a trimmer episode count. Once you've seen one training sequence, you've seen them all.

Question, to anyone, but especially zeroplusalpha and Charlatan:

Do I entry-pimp Nanoha?

Bloody hell, no; you've a ways to go yet before being accused of that.

I'm probably the worst offender (along with Smokie).

...who also pimps Gutsman's Fate's ass.

(Gives another reason for me not to reuse the name Fate, eh? Not to mention the puns.)

Now I'm sure I've seen some fanart somewhere in which Fate is cosplaying as Saber. Which of course gives me an excuse to use Fate/Testarossa as a lame joke.

Is Saber that blond-haired female knight with blue and silver armor who looks like Fate could really convincingly cosplay her?

That explains a lot. I was wondering why I wasn't seeing what everyone else seemed to see when they watched it.

...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.

Okay so I'm finally going to pick this show up. Anyone know which subs are the good ones?

EDIT: The torrents aren't being friendly to me at the moment, plus I remembered that 2 seasons of Da Capo are sitting around here. I'd still like my question to be answered though.

I have DGz subs (which are adaptions of The Triad's subs) for Season 1 & 2 and Coldlight for Season 3.

Just make sure you get the DVD versions. Otherwise...

Hard drive failure. I'll go with less quality, since I'll probably be watching these in school on my iPod or something. Anyway, thanks, at least I know what to get. smile
