Yusuke in general just left such a bad taste in my mouth. Yeah he can't be epected to just completely betray his mentor without remorse, but it's a little more humanizing than I'd like. He himself tries to straight up blackmail Ann into doing something she's uncomfortable with, right after said sexually charged arc. The anime version of that arc is instantly superior in my mind just for cutting that shit.
Aside from that moment, Yusuke is a pretty cool guy actually and quite empathetic. So looking back at that moment, it IS really weird.
But the whole moment of Ann showing up with a huge pile of clothes was pretty funny in a cross the line twice sort of way.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Yosuke has typical teen issues rife with questionable choices and issues.
Yusuke is a one note Starving Artist who only has lines related to art, food or agreeing the the bad guy is bad and nothing else.
Totally different characters.

I remember making a joke about P5 reusing names from previous Persona games, but changing "o" for "u" (Jun Kurosu -> Akira Kurusu, Ryoji -> Ryuji, Yosuke -> Yusuke).
He also banters with Futaba and tries to keep the team on track with Makoto. That's as much character as everyone else got.

I mean, I’ve liked what I’ve seen of him in the Animation and Strikers so far.
Yes, his character primarily relates to art but that doesn’t mean nothing interesting comes of that.
Also, I just think Matthew Mercer does a good job with him.
(I’ll also note that I’ve come around a bit on Yosuke after playing Golden. Yes, he’s a dick a lot of the time, bordering on a Politically Incorrect Hero, but there are plenty of moments where his positive traits shine through. I particularly like his Social Link.)

Oh God! Natural light! It always tickled me that Yusuke is a blue-haired character originally voiced by Tomokazu Sugita and then dubbed by Matthew Mercer, because the first character I knew was voiced by Mercer was also a blue-haired guy originally voiced by Sugita: Chrom from Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Problem is that most of the spinoff material ignore's Yosuke's social link almost completely.

Damn, that talk about voice actors reminded me of another joke I made when Yusuke's VA was announced. I speculated that he was a Kuzunoha, because all the other Sugita's roles in this franchize are Kuzunohas (Raidou, Raido and Madame Ginko) and Yusuke is associated with foxes

Yeah, Yusuke's way better than than yosuke in my book too. His arc in strikers really elevated the otherwise boring jail/monarch and he works really well as the more subdued member who still has interesting things to say. His social link in 5 might also be one of the better party members social link, along with futaba, ryuji and haru.

Funnily enough, Matthew Mercer also voiced Raidou and Raido, so that's another connection he has with Sugita.

I think he suffers a bit from coming off the heels of very-sensitive-topic of sexual harrasment/rape/driven to suicide of kamoshida, while at the same time his evil isn't the same brand of big and impersonnal evil than the Mafia, Corrupt corporation, politics or GOD has.
I think it might be compounded by the fact he's the only major target who's not treated as redeemable anyway like futaba or sae that the game actually goes out of it's way to humanize back in yusuke's confident (in a way he feels the most like a Monarch of P 5 S before it's time), and that he was already good enough at playing the affability facade he's the only one where the thieves actually buy it for a good minute.
