I believe was kind of a dud when I listened to it the first time on the ost but it kinda grew on me once I realized it was a sequel to Life Will Change, and then Sapphire made a cover of it
that adressed pretty much all of my problems with the original so it's cool in my book.
So I’ve been pondering over some of my own OC ideas (maybe I’ll write a fic one day, maybe it’ll just be for my own amusement), and I was wondering - what would be a good starting Persona for a female Wild Car user?
The themes I think might be interesting are sleep, dreams, enchantment, and manipulation. The only one that I was really able to come up with that seemed fitting here was Sleeping Beauty, but that struck me as perhaps a bit too passive. Any thoughts?
Oh God! Natural light!Something from the Chariot arcana, obviously.
In all seriousness, you could always go for Robin Goodfellow
from A Midsummer Night's Dream.

"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."That idea did also occur to me, although I was sort of hoping to use a female figure. Still, it’s probably my best option right now.

You could always do your own version of the fairy queen Titania.
That's been done in Persona before, with Take-Mikazuchi being a generic persona in Persona 3, before being given an overhaul and being much more impressive as Kanji's persona in Persona 4.

x4 I don't know how much she has to do with dreams, but maybe Morgan le Fay might be a good one. I feel like a starting persona based on a fairy would be a good choice for the themes you want.

If you're hankering to hearkening back to P3/4's Orphean Rescue theme. Then I think Ishtar might be a good start.
As far as the Dream theme goes, maybe Asteria?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I’ll definitely look further into fairies. Right now, leaning towards Puck, but am open to other possibilities.
Here are some other ideas I’ve had (not all relate to a singular theme, but I’ve tried to at least to use ones that could be somewhat interconnected).
- Hierophant: Rip Van Wrinkle -> Epimenides
(Playing on the sleep theme, naturally.)
- Lovers: Daphne -> Persephone (more of the enchantment angle here)
- Justice: Illuminati -> Providence (This would be the navigator. The most tenuous connection to the larger theme, but I thought it was a cool idea, particular as it relates to the original Bavarian Illuminati
, which was dedicated to opposing superstition and the abuse of state power. Would probably tie more into the manipulation angle.)
What do you think?

Bewitching EyesIn other news, I've decided to start playing Golden on Steam, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for managing Social Links and/or Personas. Is it particularly difficult to max everyone out on a first playthrough?

Oh God! Natural light!
The original P4 required you to follow a pretty specific and narrow set of actions to max everyone on a first playthrough and it was basically totally unrealistic that you'd do so on a first playthrough otherwise. I think Golden gives you some more days with which to do it but it also has more S Links and stuff to do so I dunno how it adds up.
You should go for the bad ending first. That way you can quickly get into New Game Plus and start working on other stuff.
One Strip! One Strip!IIRC, there's only one social link you actually have to max for the true ending: Marie
I would prioritise party members, including the navigator once that becomes available. They provide benefits in-battle. Other characters, while still nice, provide notably less benefit.
Golden gives you some extra time to complete your social links, that was just a time-skip in the original. So it's a lot easier. However, there are still some reasons to complete them early.
I think telling someone who is playing for the first time "hey, right before the big story climax you should start the game over and redo the last 60 hours of gameplay" is a really bad idea.
Digital Devil Saga and SMT If, maybe Devil Survivor are the only games in the whole franchise where new game + is really worth your time IMO. Sure the extra bosses are usually nice and sometimes the devs will toss in a few odds and ends, but rarely is there enough new content, especially in the more linear spinoffs to really justify it. I'd rather follow a strict guide and make sure I get all the timed character development and events I can out of a Persona game, since missing anything huge means you have to go through the whole affair all over again.
And for what, the ability to flirt with Chie a few times in early game?
I want to try figuring out my schedule on my own, personally. I know what happens in the plot, at least, so I know which Social Links have strict deadlines.
Anyway, I just beat Shadow Chie, and tomorrow I suppose I’ll start exploring the Castle more and leveling up everyone so that I can get new skills and Personas. In the meantime, how should one generally balance social links and grinding/dungeon exploration?
Oh God! Natural light!I did my first playthrough of P4G mostly blind (which did lead to me getting the second-best ending instead of the actual best one), and am now using a guide for my new game plus playthrough, to mop up as many achievements as I can. You would be surprised at how easy it is to mess up "read all books". All social links is doable on your first playthrough, but its easier on new game plus since you can max out your social stats on the first go, and those carry over. You also get to keep your money and persona compendium, so I bought my Trumpeter over, who shrugs off most damage.
But yeah, a new game plus is for completionists, not for just playing the game 'normally'.
I tend to drag dungeon sessions out as long as I can. Granted, this becomes significantly easier the further along you get; I think the castle is the only dungeon you can't complete in one day, but on a first playthrough you may still struggle with the others.
