x2 Why is that anyways? Like I get the references, and while it's been a long time since I read the book, what about Frankenstein made the developers want to allude to it?
The next Velvet assistant will be a guy and the first Gay Opt- hahaha what am i saying

Faux Symbolism, i'd guess
And Mary or Shelley.
I personally have two suggestions if Frankenstein is exhausted:
1. Since the Velvet Room itself apparently derives from the Masque of the Red Death, something like "Lenore" or "Madeline" could work.
2. You could take influence from other works of Gothic fiction, like [[Literature/Dracula Mina]] or Sibyl.
aaaaaaand finally reached the top of tartarus. for real this time.
no choice but to wait for nyx.
the rush to the top of tartarus, ranking up the judgement social link every few minutes, fighting floor bosses in quick succession... that was honestly really cool.
on the other hand, i cheesed most of them with Thunder Call. thanks broken game mechanics. the second to last floor boss was hilariously auto battled thanks to having Abaddon, and the final floor boss of them all was super cheesed by Odin's Thunder Reign. thanks elec break!
time to grind for nyx at the end of the month!
edit:so uh, i killed the reaper as part of elizabeth's request (made much MUCH easier with Odin and Spell Master) and... there's a door now?? no character is commenting on it

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThat's the Bonus Dungeon Monad. That's where you go for endgame level grinding, and where you fight the ultimate Bonus Boss (but only available in NG+).
You don't really need to go there, unless you want the final boss fight to be super easy.
Man I hate Persona DLC. I mean 7 dollars for a costume set & 35 for the grand bundle.
Thats over half of Royal's base price & got the game on discount at 30 dollars. The DLC is more expensive than the actual game.
And again its mostly just costumes, who the fuck are they trying to rip-off?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."![]()
Oh, okay. I've already grinded a little bit, i dont want the final boss to be TOO easy but it seems kinda unfortunate that so many of the cool personas make the final boss a joke. even Golden and 5 didn't really have that.
Persona 5's DLC is absolutely absurd in its pricing. i just nabbed the velvet room costumes and the DLC personas, that's it

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeYeah, Persona does suffer from having no challenging Bonus Dungeon. No place to use all those level 90+ Personas.
Speaking of Bonus Dungeon, I saw Hollow Forest and the P5 third semester dungeon listed there. Should it apply at all, since they're more like True Final Dungeon more than anything?

Joker looks quite a bit like the Phantom of the Paradise, who was also out to take down a Villain with Good Publicity who holes himself up in a huge, bizarre building. I really do wonder if that was intentional; have heard the film was big in Japan.
It is the evening of January 30th. Tomorrow is the day that Nyx arrives.
I, barely managed to max out Mitsuru and Aigis, and wow am I glad I did. I had to sacrifice Fuuka's SL to do so, but, well, hers wasn't fantastic.
High props to January making it FEEL like the world is ending- showing first and foremost the stakes that everyone is dealing with. It's something that I wish the whole game did better with, but January felt chilling. Honestly, I think being able to walk around and talk with all the NPCs alone makes FES worth it as a first playthrough.
Also, ended my last free day maxing Aigis's SL, which was oddly fitting.
containing my overall SL review to a folder because, uh, there's a lot.
- Fool: MAX- Story based one, and one that I overall liked. Like most of the games this one felt kinda backheavy, but at the very least it genuinely did feel like the team developed together and became friends, compared to 4's where everyone mostly felt like friends from beginning to end.
- Magician: 7/10- I'm sure Kenji is a fine dude and all but i literally only did his social link when i had nothing else to do. I want to see how it ends but it really wasn't interesting.
- Priestess: 7/10- Sorry Fuuka but your SL wasn't as good as Mitsuru or Aigis's. Not bad, mind you, and I did check to see how it ended, but overall a really tame social link.
- Empress: MAX- I honestly really, REALLY like Mitsuru's SL. It gives her so much personality and develops her on a personal level... obviously. It tackles the side of Mitsuru we don't really get to see for most of the game, both personality and in terms of the pressures of the Kirijo business. Very good SL.
- Emperor: MAX- Only did it to get Odin, and honestly I'm glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the SL and the development of Hidetoshi. My only issue with it is that we don't get more chances to tell him off in the beginning, but the last three ranks MORE than make up for it.
- Hierophant: MAX- Another social link I was pleasantly surprised by. Many of the days in the SL feel empty, but there was a genuine lesson in needing to let things go and focus on the meaning rather than the material. Honestly, good SL.
- Lovers: MAX- I love Yukari, I love this SL. Great social link that tackles the other half of her parents and does exactly what an SL should do. I just wish the resolution didn't feel so out of the blue, but that's really not what's important about the SL.
- Chariot: MAX- Solid SL. It feels kind of barebones, and honestly Ryuji's Confidant in 5 is basically this but way better.
- Justice: MAX- Chihiro's really not my type of girl, but the SL admittedly does a great job of showing character development. I just wish the ending wasn't so sexist, but hey it's persona 3.
- Hermit: MAX- I've talked about it at length before, but overall I do genuinely adore this concept as one of the most clever social links in all of persona. it's execution just leaves a lot to be desired, but it's not bad.
- Fortune: 5/10- Keisuke's a pretty chummy character, I liked him, but I really don't regret focusing on other social links. he's probably the one i regret not finishing the most, though.
- Strength: MAX- I adore Yuko. The SL is sweet but simple, shows development, and focuses on a much lighter topic than, uh, your imminent death. My greatest wish was honestly that Yuko had more of a presence OUTSIDE her SL and holidays.
- Hanged Man: MAX- One of the best Social Links of the game. It deals with a very realistic topic and shows a sort of found brother/sister relationship that's followed up in 4 with Nanako. I also love the bittersweetness of its ending, of the best thing for her also being the thing that keeps you apart.
- Death: MAX- Story social link. It's good, it hints at what's to come, keeps the player on their toes, eventually leads to one of the best twists of the game.
- Temperance: 1/10- rip to the transfer student but i did not have the time to waste on you, sorry bud.
- Devil: MAX- another social link that's short on content. I love the idea of the social link and love it's beats, i just wish it was meatier.
- Tower: MAX- Great build up and development, horrible ending that contradicts the themes of the game and also the social link itself.
- Star: MAX- It was a solid social link. I feel bad for Mamoru but, eh. so many of the ranks feel exactly the same. it wasn't BAD, but not my favorite of the game.
- Moon: 6/10- Gourmet King is an... interesting fellow. It's a shame I didn't get to the end of the SL, because it was honestly just starting to get interesting.
- Sun: MAX- I've said it before, but the Sun SL is one of the best in the whole series. It works SO, so well into the themes of the story, the last rank directly foreshadows the conclusion of the game, Akinari's development and search for meaning in his short life is so interesting, it just does everything right. There is not other social link like it in the whole series.
- Judgment: MAX- Short, sweet, and satisfying. Having the rank slowly tick up as you march up the last few dozen floors and take on boss after boss? So great feeling.
- Aeon: MAX- I left this one out of the folder for a reason, because it's just, so, so very good and more important than all the others. Every single rank up feels meaningful and asks a new question of Aigis. It touches on the themes of the game heavily, and asks not only what Death is, but what Life is as well. You can feel Aigis's development from who she first was, and the end of her SL is incredibly touching and not only concludes her arc from her SL but also tackles it in a way that's unique to her as a weapon and (potentially) immortal robot. I cannot stress enough how great this social link is. It is one of the best, and arguably the best, SL between all of 3, 4, and 5, and Aigis is up there for one of my favorite characters in the whole series.
Next time I play I'll finally be finishing Persona 3, and I'm very, VERY much looking forward to it.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThe Social Links in vanilla 3, there are some good ones but there are also stunningly mediocre ones (looking at you, gourmet king). I think it's a result of them being the first time Persona used the concept.
The Social Links that are different for the girl MC:
Magician: Junpei
Chariot: Rio Iwazaki, a member of the girl's tennis/volleyball club
Justice: Ken
Hermit: Saori Hasegawa, a member of the health/library committee
Fortune: Ryoji
Strength: Koromaru
Star: Akihiko
Moon: Shinjiro

Nope. no way. not a chance. the gameplay is too frustrating to play the answer, especially without a compendium. i'll watch the cutscenes online or soemthing.

That's a really good change honestly. Party social links are crucial to fleshing out their character and relationship to the MC. I'll miss Yuko and "Maya" but otherwise I definitely prefer FEMC's list.
i mentioned it before, but the overworld honestly adds SO much atmosphere to the game. i don't think i'd have liked 3 as much without it, at least for a first time playthrough.
the gameplay was definitely stupid rough though...
