How did I remember NOTHING about going to the P3 Island, meeting Chihiro and then getting "drunk?!" I even got one helluva "hug" from my dear Yukiko. Amazing.
And I totally forgot Shadow Naoto. Like, everything about the fight. I at least remembered basics for everyone else but S. Naoto? Nothing. I went in underleveled and everyone in my party kept dying a lot but it was still a pretty easy fight. It's the only Shadow boss I've beaten in my first attempt.
As for following S Link guides, eh. I think that can be fine in certain cases but following a guide step-by-side seems like it would ruin the experience. Some of them are tricky and I was grateful back in 2017 when posters on here December cutoff dates for Dojima, Nanako and Marie. Also I just looked up Adachi's S Link because I've always heard there was some trick to it. I'm grateful to learn that it automatically progresses if you get to Rank 6 before November and i did just that so I'm good here.
Maxed out Dojima and Nanako, so close to getting Yukiko 10.... Here's hoping I can make it with everyone.

I play all personas with a guide to manage my time for me. As far as I'm concerned, it's part of the fun of the game. I don't particularly enjoy having to make those decisions myself, and I am not playing persona to miss half of the Slinks's completion and watch them on youtube or worse, sink another 100 hours into it playing NG+.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."I don't, it was just sort of a dumb joke. My first playthrough was start of 2017, this is my second full run. There was an aborted run not long after my first complete run. So yeah, I was just referencing that. I might replay the game in six months from now or in ten years. I really am fickle and go by whatever mood strikes me.
Just got to the Naoto rescue cutoff point. Yukiko maxed, Dojima maxed, Nanako maxed, Naoki 9, Marie 8, Chie 7 or 8 and then everyone else.
I feel really bad, like I let everyone down. You get the good feels at the end for how you helped so many people but what about all the people you didn't help? In my original run Naoki probably killed himself or something. In this run I'm afraid Eri will probably become some alcoholic and god knows how Yuta will grow up.
When you think about it the MC is actually a monster. Is it even possible to max every S Link in a first playthrough? I guess he's not so bad if you can do that but otherwise a lot of shit is still pretty fucked. You walk around and feel good when you see the beneficiaries of your playthrough but behind all of them are the corpses of the S Links you failed to complete.
Seriously though, Temperance is pretty good and I have no idea why it always gets singled out as one of the worst in P4. Hanged is pretty great too and I genuinely feel bad I neglected him last time so I could fuck that nurse or whatever.

Its more then possible to max out every SL in P 4 G. Its especially easy in P5 and P 5 R.

Watch SymphogearBut how? I ignored like half the S Links in the game and still haven't maxed out any moer than a handful at the start of October.
You gotta do dungeoncrawling, stat building....I don't see how without following a meticulous guide of somebody who knows everything in and out.
Hell, just having a Persona of the right Arcana in your party is sometimes impossible for one reason or another which gimps you on s Link points gains.

Given all of the Qo L updates in Golden, it's way easier than you're making it sound.
It's really managing your time and optimizing you stat growth. Which admittedly takes some trial and error.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.No I didn't, and I'm actually somewhat surprised that the guide I followed leaves out a couple of rank-10s for after you catch the culprit. Makes me wonder if that was actually possible in 4, although I guess that if you remove the marie and adachi S Links you get just enough to do this.
But I don't think you need to follow a guide so much as you need to follow certain basic guidelines to exploit as much as you can out of your time in order to max out everyone. Basics would obviously be : -Complete every dungeon in one day, and starting with the second dungeon, pair it up with revisiting old dungeons for quest materials. For that matter, clear shadow yukiko at minimum level 18 so you can have an Aeon persona for her.
-Take the beef bowl rainy day challenge a lot of times (I think I had to do it at least 10 times in my run) since it's just one of the best stat raiser all around.
-Some Slinks also give you free stats when you do them so just max the shit out of them (Devil confident in particular I remember)
-Trying to rush specific Slinks seems to be counterproductive and the guide went for doing pretty much everyone at the same time, although there were some exceptions (the fox, Adachi, and Yukiko).
-And of course, pick optimal answers during discussions for faster s-links rankup.
But to be honest, I kinda struggle to see what you did with your free time to max out only a handful of S Links. i'd assume that even without a guide I'd still get about the two thirds nailed down without too many issues so I'm curious to hear what was your routine.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Read boosk to gain Knowledge and Expression from Translating and studying, I only finished dungeons in first day starting with Rise, I did take the Bowel challenge on several rainy days while others I used it to finish up the current Fox S Link or to go into the TV to get money as I'm always in dire need of funds.
Oh and I took several bike rides with Yukiko, at least 3, to check out what new skills she can learn.
But yeah, I talk to people whenever available. Sometimes "they aren't ready to advance yet" so you waste a day just moving them along a single rank. I recall doing that multiple times with Adachi.
I'm at 10/20 and I have: Yukiko Max, Dojima Max, Nanako Max, Chie 7 Yosuke 5, Kanji 5, Rise 6, Adachi 6, Marie 9, Naoki 9, Fox 6, Margaret 9, Eri 4. Stats are Expression 5 Knowledge 5 Diligence 3 Courage 3, Understanding 4

Oh right, naoto isn't really the cutoff point, 22 december is the actual cutoff point, and you need every single day to max out everyone. In fact, with the added confidents of marie and Adachi, you definitely need some of the january month to max everyone out.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Well I'm not at Naoto's dungeon, I'm at Naoto's S Link starting. i looked it upbecause I fucked up with Kanji and started his way late and I can't afford that with Naoto, especially since she's gonna be in my main party. I wanted to get everyone I really cared about done so I could focus all my efforts on her. I've heard many folks failed to complete her S link because of the time limit.
I took her for my last money run her dungeon and her voice-actress is strange. I'm not sure if she's good at emoting or not. She's fine as long as she's Naoto's usual composed, soft-voiced self but her voice warbles a lot in combat and I'm unsure if that's intentional. Like how her voice cracks when she can't kill an enemy. It is kinda cute but it's weird, I don't think she ever sounds like this consistently in regular cutscenes. Then again, my memory of the game is obviously far from perfect.
Son-of-a-bitch. I knew Knowledge 5 was required but I didn't know anything about needing Maxed Courage, too. Well fuck off Persona 4 Golden. There's no way that's happening, at least not in time to max her S Link.
I'll try again in my third run, although I might not just out of pure spite.
I do have some old save files from end of July.... I'd have to redo so much shit but...I dunno.

The lectures talk about humanity and a shadow world that connects everyone, regardless of distance, and that it was how many ideas came together. Someone in that times would respond in a way that it would mean that the common sources would invalidate religion.
At least, that's as far as these lectures go.
