Major difference between persona 6 and persona 3 is that this time persona has a footing in mainstream audience and there's a large audience asking for just more of the hashino games, when persona 3 discarding so much of 1-2 went unnocticed because basically no one knew about those games.
I fully expect persona 6 to try as much to keep in line with the formula that made 5 big since it's Atlus's biggest cash cow and it's the safest play to make.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."P Ersona 5-2 already exists in Persona 5 Scramble, and it even went Action RPG like how Persona 5 was going to in early concepts.

Well, Kanji had to be somebody, Yu is already Fred (Fred was the former trope namer for The Generic Guy and Yu, like most protagonists in Japanese media, is mostly a self-insert character), and Kanji does have the personality.
Also, who is Naoto?

So Kanji is what Scrappy could be if he was actually allowed to just beat the shit out of the ghosts right away then?
I'm ok with that.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, but the difference is, Kanji can splat him.
He punches out his own shadow (after it changes back in the games, and before it does so in the anime). Scrappy only wishes he could have a chance to do that.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah.
And the thing is, he didn't have to be so divisive. He starts out great as some people said, and we have both Junpei and Ryoji for showing that Yosuke's character archetype (the best bud) can be done well.
The funny thing is, Yosuke does one thing that Junpei and Ryoji never do: compromise the group's mission.
Junpei runs off during the train fight and nearly gets killed (and later leaks info about S.E.E.S. to Chidori, but he didn't know she was a spy) and Ryuji's inability to keep his mouth shut almost gets the group caught a few times (and in the case of Makoto, flat out does get them caught).
Nobody ever finds out from Yosuke what they are doing. But that rarely matters when he's doing other things that piss the fandom off. It goes to show how badly thought out traits can totally consume a character.
One Strip! One Strip!I think you mean ryuji and that your sentence is worded backwards. Yosuke never compromised the mission while the other two did. Although being so gung-ho about killing namatame could be considered as similar, if not worse.
But that's part of what weird with yosuke, it's that he basically starts at the endpoint of junpei and ryuji : somewhat responsible, aware of his limitations and trying to be clear about the fact he's geniune in his intentions, but then his journey leads him to become dumber and dumber, almost as bad ryuji/junpei at their worst, only turn around and sprint back to his starting point towards the end. This character is done backwards on so many levels.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."The thing is...Junpei isn't the best bud. He's a jealous jerk in one universe and a sexist pig in the other. Yosuke remains unfailingly a supporter of the MC from start to finish while Junpei takes over half the game to get his head out of his ass.
This is why you dump him and Yukari and start using Mitsuru and Akihiko who are better and cooler friends.

I try not to care too much about hype.
It’s how I played The Last of Us. Enough accolades to fill a large Wikipedia page & I found it an average enough experience for the most part.
