The burning Kingdom of Mikado says otherwise.
Ehh, guess we have to agree to disagree.
Besides, at least IV doesn't have Asahi.

I dunno, Walter and Burroughs made convincing arguments. Like how fucked up the White are.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I don't like IV. It tried some stuff but Jonathan and Walter are easily the worst Law and Chaos Reps of all time. They have negative levels of charisma and nothing about their character arcs make sense.
Playing SJR really made me appreciate Zelenin and Jimenez. When I played original SJ as my first Mega Ten game I thought they were kinda bland but compared to the characters in most other SMT games, they receive oodles of focus and nuance. I ended up liking them both quite ab it.
There are a couple things I like about IV - the White Ending, fighting Isabeau, etc. - but overall one of the weaker SMT games. I think I made my Atlus list before but here it is again:
Top Tier: Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse, Persona 4 Golden
High Tier: Persona 2 Innocent Sin, Strange Journey Redux, Devil Survivor 2
Mid Tier: Nocturne, Devil Survivor 1, Persona 3 FES, Persona 2 Eternal Punishment
Low Tier: Shin Megami Tensei IV, Persona 5. Digital Devil Saga 1 (the only one I just quit)

I still don't know what your problem is with Persona 5.
At least give Royal as shot.
Watch SymphogearIt's really as simple as "I don't like the Phantom Thieves." Kind of a crippling flaw in your game about Friends & Stuff. I like Haru but of course she's the PT with the least amount of screentime and a pretty boring S Link.
I liked the Confidants like Kawakami and So-Good Tora but the lack of any real feeling for the main cast is just too strong a flaw, one I don't think Royal can fix.
Granted, maybe with some time and the hype train having died down so people are no longer swearing up and down to me that P5 will give me an orgasm at how perfect it is and in all ways better than P 4 G, I would be less critical of it.
Already we can see how much the initial hype was bullshit. I remember people talking up Makoto as Best Girl. She's even voiced by the great Cherami Leigh. And now most recognize her as painfully boring and generic and she's easily the worst of the PT girls. She might be voiced by Leigh but she has precisely zero of the fire and charisma that somebody like Lucy has. People looked at her design and motorcycle and figured she'd be some aggressive no-nonsense badass. Lol, were we deceived. You want a woman who kicks ass, you go Haru.
But do I want to spend $60 on a game that has some slight additions when I already didn't enjoy it? No. Let the price come down, go on sale, and maybe I'll try Royal.

When 6 comes out it will either be the worst of the lot or the best.
Well assuming, I'm going with the all or nothing route.
Sure it will most likely have its strengths and weakness like all the other titles but ya know its funner that way, like going all in in a poker game.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I mean yeah, saying nikk to try royale doesn't sound like a very compelling argument. I wouldn't put up with a 4 rerelease either if I had played the original. Those games are quite the time investment, so for it to justify replaying it AGAIN with some additions, you'd have to love the game that much in the first place.
And, y'know, he's in his right not to enjoy p5.
Although, nikk, you'd be surprised to know makoto still manage to remain "best girl" to this day. Other people talked about it a couple pages ago but despite the flaws people have found with her character she's still the most popular pairing.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."
Makoto is still the best girl for me. Sure she has her flaws, but it just makes her better attributes shine much more for me.
Sure Kasumi and Ann may have tempted me, as well as Haru, but Makoto always won.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
Ooooooh, Politics.
HA, trying to put that sort of thing on the forums doesn't really work. I mean, trying to argue Nationalism made a certain character like Trump is arguing in bad faith.
Besides Makoto is a reformist. Gotta respect that.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"bruh, haven't you been reading the confessions of various cops published over the past few weeks?
the reformists all get forced out after a couple of years
And, like. The game literally opens with a pair of cops torturing and drugging a 16 year old.

Bewitching Eyes
Oh dear, perhaps we should walk a careful line when discussing this?
But would you fault Makoto for trying to reform a broken system? Perhaps she is doomed to fail, but one cannot help but admire her efforts.
It's better than giving up and accepting corruption. Besides a reformist should not be lumped in with corrupt cops.
There is a reason why Joker running for office as an honest politician is a popular idea.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

@ Rodimus.
Yeah sure, maybe the entire point of Apocalypse was that the game was rigged, but now it just makes the OG IV seem superfluous.
