Someone in my group of friends also pointed out that blood type is also used to just characterize people in japanese works. Like, they almost treat it like the MBTI. there's apparently even discrimination based on it sometimes. So it's definitely not meant to be taken as a hint of that, so that's a lot less cursed than I thought at first.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."this would assume shido bothered to keep track of his bastards. As indicated by akechi, he very clearly didn't.
Part of the narrative is that shido isn't exactly as smart as he appers to and a lot of the heavy lifting is done by the final boss and akechi for him.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."God I managed to soldier through that awful week in September with Morgana's tandrum. I swear to god it's like everyone picked up either the idiot ball or the douchebag ball at every turn in order to pad out the week.
Why couldn't they just focused this week on Haru's intro instead of what we got? Futaba's arc was done so much better.
I didn't hate Okumura's palace or his boss fight so let's hope the Royal version will wash down the awful taste of that bad arc introduction. I'm looking forward to it. =3

To be fair I doubt it would have been hard to keep track of Futaba. It's not like her existence was a secret before Wakaba died.
He knew (or at least suspected) about Akechi, though it wouldn't have changed his plan to have the latter assassinated.
I guess Akechi inherited one thing from his dad: not being nearly as smart as he thinks he is, considering he would have been killed once Shido got what he wanted, and well before he could go through with the last part of his plan.
One Strip! One Strip!Shido is smug as shit, but he has enough foresight to kill anyone associated with him after they've served their purpose to get anyone off his trail. The only fuck up he had was his Kick the Dog moment towards Futaba, and that is only justified because Futaba's arc doesn't work otherwise.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Okumura down. I have to admit, I completely forgot how the Okumura fight went in vanilla P5 but this one must've been very similar? It was tricky though and I had to abuse baton pass with some psy magatama but it wasn't so bad. Almost ran out of time though.
Getting closer to that third semester stuff. I can't wait!
I wiped to Okumura once on Merciless because i underestimated how strong one of the almighty attacks would be, but the fight really wasn't that hard if you abused weaknesses. Obnoxious, sure, but I don't think the fight was really that hard.
Sae was the problematic one on Merciless since she had an unavoidable almighty attack that would intsa-wipe my party, because Merciless damage mods. I wiped to her three times before i set up a turn to stack damage stupid hard to just skip the final phase of her fight.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeYou have to defeat all the robots on the same turn in Royal or he just resets the wave, which is not ideal when you're against the clock. Also Robot Haru powering up his moves, and then exploding right at the end of the fight.
Also he never fucking shuts up. Chattiest boss in the game by far.
Vanilla is just a mook spam and then a damage race against the Executive Director.
Bewitching Eyes
x2 I beat Sae on Merciless by accident (I used the Merciless exploit for Okumura and forgot to change it back), but I was also on NG+ and did a ton of fusing so take that as you will.
He also likes to inflict Hunger and boost his mooks' Defense to make the fight as frustrating as possible.
His boss is honestly one of the worst-designed fights I've ever seen in any game.
Hunger isn't that annoying since basically everything healing item cures it and by that point in that game you're gonna have at least one or two people with Harisen Recovery
Bewitching EyesSo I just discovered you can get NG+ from the Vanilla Bad Ending in Royal. Good thing I didn't save over my game when it asked.
Also, good thing the 3rd Semester exists. I've maxed everyone but Yusuke and Haru.
I liked the new Akechi confidant. It shows off the new features of the game well, and we get to know him a bit too. Supposedly 3rd Semester is Akechi, Akira/Ren, and Kasumi in a love triangle. Which type?
There's no love triangle. Some listening to dumb rumors.
No, but you get an Old Save Bonus for having save data from the original game when you begin Royal.

Well crap, I'm going blind towards the third semester but if it's all about these three than my expectations are very much dampened. I don't give two shakes about Akechi but hopefully Kasumi can carry this thing for me. So far I'm liking her a lot.

I mean like you said, it's really stretching plausibility; the only reason the theory took off was because it was ambiguous who Akechi's mother was. Now that there's no ambiguity on that front, it just feels we're trying to make a connection that simply isn't there.
Now GRANTED, the fact we don't know who Futaba's biological father is casts a lot of doubt on some things and the fact that Wakaba used to work for Shido.
