Welp, I don't have to buy a PS Vita anymore. Great news.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."P3 I suspect they would probably want to put more work into. Probably attempting to combine FES and P 3 P into 1 game.
To be honest, the main advantage vanilla and FES had over P 3 P was less content and more the presentation. I like visual novels just fine but it really felt like something was lost when P 3 P had to make those presentational compromises for the PSP. By contrast most people dont seem to like The Answer all that much.
It's better really. Presentation is presentation, but are the CG cutscenes and physical exploration really worth not having controlled allies and having to work around their quirks/AI patterns, no female option with vastly improved Social Links, and no quality of life features from 4? Portable is the sum of all of its parts put together as a package.
Also just, even if it was a straight emulation of the PS 2 game, I'd kill for a port of Nocturne.
The best part about P4 coming out on Steam is that every single fucking debate from the last ten years will be back in full force, except with the context of a 2020 mindset and I'm SO looking forward to it.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.cant wait for the marie debates all over again
...except not really, because most people will be introduced to marie as if she was always part of the cast and not added in, and for the most part people who played Golden first dont mind marie or like her
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeAside from the fact this could kinda be adachi, I sorta regret that p5 came out to late to include a palace like this as part of royale. It'd be right at home with the rest of the targets.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Technically, there's SIU head, though the lack of a palace from him was a wasted oppurtunity.
Watch Symphogeareh, SIU director doesn't really cut it. Like sure, it's a corrupt cop, but it's a bureaucrat and he doesn't openly harbor any particular prejudice besides thinkin he's hot shit himself. He doesn't have a palace because most of it thematically would be shido, but lamer because we have no ties to him.
I assume we'd be talking more about something closer to the field and with racism as a much more prominent theme.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Man cops would be perfect for this.
I mean most of the cops who shoot unarmed civilians have tons of misconduct on their records & generally never receive any form of disciplinary action.
They can basically do whatever the fuck they want because they are never punished.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."As for P 3 FES, Most issues I see brought up with the Answer are the gameplay that drags on too much and requires too much grinding for an epilogue that is no daily life content and all dungeon crawling in p3's style dungeons more than a problem with the story itself.
Some people are mad at Yukari for making bad decisions but it's kinda the entire point of the answer, that the team as a whole doesn't know how to process their grief of what happens with p3's end. (And why Junpei is the voice of the reason here : he's the one who has the least difficulties understanding what's going on because he second guesses himself a lot and is the most socially adjusted member of the group).
That's pretty much the entire point of Erebus's battle theme, really : Despite being called darkness, it's a very upbeat song that doesn't relent for a second and feels like he's getting the asswhooping of it's life. Because by the time he's fought, the SEES have all come to term with their grief and are ready to move on. As such, Erebus doesn't mean anything to them. he has no thematical hold over them. And as such the song is a celebration of the SEES's newfound resolve rather than the depressive, choking atmosphere it looks like it is at the start.
That and that alone is one of my favorite bits of storytelling in all of persona and I wouldn't take p3p in exchange of that... or I wouldn't, if I couldn't just watch the answer's cutscenes on youtube and have an all-around better experience with it than people playing the damn thing. And it seems to be a pretty recurring thing that people watching the answer have a better opinion of it than people playing it.

While I'm not huge on P4 I'm glad for the people who are and who might want to play it, Golden was stuck on Vita for a long time. I might purchase 3 and give it another playthrough sometime, my only question is it FES or Portable? Ideally I'd rather they make a new version with the content from both.
Hopefully Royal makes its way there soon enough, despite my criticisms of the vanilla game I did enjoy playing through it and the additions to Royal sound genuinely decent so I wouldn't mind giving it another go.
EDIT: Ok, the tweet says it's based on P 3 P. To be honest, that's probably better in the long run since while the town segments basically being menus isn't great the new content is probably more important.
