I didn't mind vanilla Okumura palace or boss fight. I remember the hunger status that came out of nowhere but aside from that I remember nothing. Which means I didn't find it frustrating. I hope the royal version will be a bit more fun. I'm not going to spoil myself on it.
I don't like the arc though because of story reasons.
even playing on merciless i only lost one time, and that was due to me making a mistake more than anything else. i feel like as long as you have weakness coverage and even partially remember the weaknesses of the bots from earlier you should be perfectly fine.
shadow sae's the only one that i lost to more than once, and that was due to her fight on merciless basically having an unavoidable party wipe.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI got P 5 R for my birthday and have so far played 2 hours of it.
I really hope Sojiro and Morgana stop being assholes at some point.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Muat say I really love how he gets used in the permanent collab event in Another Eden.
Despite insisting with every finer of his being he ain't a Cat, he enters a world ONLY cats can enter, and that's how he rescues all the Phantom Thieves and Another Eden's Protagonists
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.A word of warning, since I've seen it catch people out: Sojiro's Confindant will NOT progress past rank 3 until you complete the fourth Palace. Until then, hanging out with him is a complete and utter waste of time.
Bewitching EyesIs Royal worth owning if you have the original? (I do, and I've finished it a few times.)
Please tell me they fixed the whole hanging out with Sojiro gives you kindness even though you're supposed to have maxed kindness out after a certain point thing.

Royal is absolutely worth getting even if you have the original. There's way more than ~$60 more of additional content in Royal.
While the vast majority of the game is the same leading up to the extra semester, there's still enough that will throw you for a loop and make it feel like a new experience, especially if you haven't played the original in a while.
On top of that, the additional content is legitimately some of the best writing in the whole franchise- praise I've even heard from a diehard Persona 2 fan, and you know how Persona 2 fans view Persona games that are numbered 3 or higher.
tl;dr: yes it's absolutely worth getting Royal
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeIf you like p5 enough to play it several times royal is probably worth buying. It's more of what made p5 good and with less of the criticisms people have levelled at it.
Pretty sure they haven't changed what you mentionned but I have a hard time seeing what's so bad about it. Like yeah it becomes pointless later in the game but that's still harmless at worst.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Its Possible via the Gallows system to make a Buff AF Arsene.
Or any Persona really. Its much easier than in the older games or even the various SMT games.
Its why the twins in the game have buff as fuck basic persona's in their bonus boss fight.

Watch SymphogearI mean you totally could buff him to be awesome, but it's a massive investment of time and resources. You'll need to keep him in Lockdown for long periods of time, stuff him full of guillotine buffs, and use a bunch of the best Skill Cards. (I barely used Skill Cards though so that part probably isn't a big deal outside of Electric Chair stuff.)
Meh, maybe it's because I played a lot of various Atlus games but I'm more attached to the other personas than the starter ones. I mean I had so many fond memories running around with Mithra, Odin and the others that I rather see them again than keep Arsene or Izanagi around.
Man, I was so sad I couldn't have Hecate. Liked her a lot in Devil Survivors.
I do think it would be a good idea for persona protagonists to have their "main" persona be permanently in their roster and not able to do fusions and stuff with them. Seems like a best-of-both-worlds sort of thing — you get the story benefit of their main persona being available for cutscenes and stuff if they ever need to do something awesome, and all the character potential of persona evolving into ultimate forms and whatnot, plus all the gameplay flexibility of the normal wild card system.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I don't know about that... on one hand, those starter Personas would need to learn more than a few skills by leveling up to remain viable even late into the game and another issue is that if skill cards and whatnot cannot be used to remove their weaknesses, then it would just be a Scrappy Mechanic due to taking up valuable space in the roster that could have been used for something else.

I personally think the complaints about Royal Okumura are overblown. Yes I lost to him a few times, but that just encouraged me to strategize better and I won on try three.
