She's great. I romanced her for my Golden Ending run and she has the best embarassed face when you confess to her.
I KNOW
SHE'S TOO SWEET
initially i had criticisms that she was just waifu bait incarnate due to being naturally pretty, well spoken, automatically sweet and interested in the playable character, had exclusive cutscenes that practically shoved her with the main character, etc etc
needless to say all my criticisms were thrown out the window once her character was expanded upon in the third semester and gosh darn do i love her
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeRoyal is literally P5's versions of F Es or Golden, but actually has changes that not only make sense, but truly expand on the themes of its story (As opposed to just 1 new social link and epilogue like with FES and 2 new SL and a new Dungeon but one that just makes Marie seem even more Mary-sue ish in Golden) in meaningful ways.
Watch SymphogearAnd there wasn't one in FES either iirc.
I do feel like they learned their lesson from Marie with Kasumi though; rather than trying to force her into events from the original game where she would be kind of out of place, they sprinkle moments for her throughout the main campaign and then tell her entire story after the original game had finished. She never comes off as obnoxious or as forced as Marie as a result.
And her attraction to Joker isn't any more than the other girls, feeling less like Story Branch Favoritism because Akechi is the OTP this time

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Well, you could kinda count metis if you squint. But outside of persona, there's also Strange journey redux and katherine fullbody who followed the trend of adding another girl prominent to the main plot. Neither was received as poorly as Marie, though.
Kasumi does have some elements of branch favoritism though, considering she's the only girl who will confess her feelings first rather than wait for joker. It just flows in naturally enough and she takes rejection so well you can tell the game isn't trying to make you feel bad for turning her down so it's easier to shrug and move on.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."IT actually did do well. It just didn't get released outside of Japan because the PSP was on its way out for the Vita (Pfft) and Innocent Sin didn't do so hot on the PSP in the west by comparison.

Watch SymphogearFinished Futaba's palace. The Wakaba fight changes(?) really weren't interesting compared to the 3 before it. Feels kinda like a let down. I think I'm horribly behind on my social links and I hope I can scrape by for a perfect finish.
I'm going to head toward the dreaded Okumura arc. I hope they added some good stuff along the way. Maybe have Hawaii actually be interesting. I actually find myself enjoying Kasumi a lot but not enough for a romance. I'm glad Akechi is getting fleshed out even if I have below zero care for him.
Did they change Sae's confident too?
And well, while I think Okumura's Palace is largely the same barring a couple of areas, his boss fight is nastier. You can get more details here: Atlus

I think Max Mittelman himself apparently doesn't like saying Fuck. At least, thats the theory.
