I get more of a "hopeful Donnie Darko in an action setting" vibe from Persona 3, for whatever reason.
The legend has returned. If anything, it's their moments of being jerks that feel unearned. They're childhood friends that reconnected with the Thieves, that makes sense to me. Less so the snide remarks. The repeating character dynamics only hold the series back if they insist on having a fresh cast each game. I'm still grateful Morgana only has the horny side for Ann, a complete retread of Ted's obnoxious antics would've made me like the cat a lot less.
Yeah, I would expect Yosuke to never enter a romantic relationship with Chie simply because of that. They will always be Vitriolic Best Buds and never consider seriously dating each other.

He had Maid Magazines under his bed according to teddie, so....
......Kawakami, I think we have a job for you.
I got past the stupid space station and the game is good again. Yay. Had to resort to the free DLC Personas and the Merciless exploit to get past the boss, though.
Merciless seems cool for a difficulty mode. I like Hard Mode Perks a lot.

I don't think he'd ever use an insult that....virulent. You might be selling Yosuke a little short on this one.
One Strip! One Strip!I believe it's an english insult.
They used to use the term in the old Beast Wars cartoon, but it got cut in Uk airings because of that.
Edit: Wow. I got
'ed hard.

One Strip! One Strip!

Yukari is an interesting character precisely because she's kind of a jerk, IMO. She's got a chip on her shoulder the size of a small car — not without justification — and early on she very clearly tolerates the rest of SEES rather than actually liking them. She grows out of it later, but she's never really a traditional tsundere, which would be the obvious archetype to go for in her situation. I don't really think that she and Junpei are good examples of Vitriolic Best Buds, though, since their relationship is less "they show affection through insults and arguing" and more "the Class Clown constantly teases and jokes with everybody and the Straight Man is legitimately annoyed by this but recognizes it for the friendly gesture it is regardless".
As far as "if P4 is small-town Scooby-Doo and P5 is Lupin III in high school, then what's P3?" I'd probably go with "Men in Black run by a zaibatsu". Their primary purpose is to defend the general public from an unseen threat that most people don't even believe exists, and it captures the character dynamic of starting out as Consummate Professionals only held together by a common goal before growing into a Band of Brothers, rather than P4 and P5's starting as Fire-Forged Friends and only later committing to a more serious cause.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.
