Also, I prefer the fanfiction A Different Kind of Truth to the actual Persona 4. ...yeah.
Persona 1 manga > everything else
I have memories of P2: EP but a recent playthrough of P2:IS washed out, so I might just try to the PSP versions whenever the translation for EP is done.
Don't like P3 and P4 anymore, but they definitely have their positive qualities. P5's the best of this style of game, I think.
Some of their early spinoffs sold very well when they branched off. Persona 1, Devil Summoner Devil Children Red and Black, etc.
Whether they continued selling as well was a different story, and it's Persona that managed to do so and get even bigger with time.
The main games at least. The Persona spinoffs tend to laughably pale in comparison even to other SMT games, except for Persona Q.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. On the ryuji/ ann compared to Junpei/Yukari, I kinda disagree with the idea their dynamic is better written. Someone earlier said they forgot the "best buds" part in the vitriol, but I don't think this was unintentionnal since they don't start out as friends, unlike ryuji and ann who were friends before life drove them apart. Junpei starts out as an annoyance to yukari and Junpei keeps teasing her because that's how he does socialization because he's bad at it like most teenagers.
I can sorta agree that they don't get to showcase the best bros part for long enough (i have a couple of scenes of the last months that comes to mind) but I think it makes sense within th narrative. the interactions are geniunely vitriolic for a long time, firstly because of junpei's inferiority complex until he overcomes it, and then from yukari's arc about learning the truth about her father. Once both are resolved, they're both able to see each other for who they are and they actually treat each others like friends. The dynamic isn't inherently toxic, it's just that they both put their other problems into that dynamic by indavertance. It IS unhealthy, but I feel it's a lot more closer to how things happen in real life groups of friends, including how they end up not thinking much of it because they both realize this to an extent. Ann and ryuji's relationship is healthier, but ultimately a bit more... ideal ? Shallow ? unrealistic ? I don't know what's the approrpaite word for it, but something to that effect.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."

It was actually so obvious in the original game, in Golden they removed the NPC who straight out told you the attendant was a liar.
