I never from familial bonds with folks I know for a few months. It don't exactly work like that.

Speaking as someone who has a younger sister with an anxiety disorder, the similarity of the dynamics struck me pretty much right away

And as a younger sibling with an anxiety disorder, i definently can see where it came from/

I don't know how anyone came out of Persona 5 and seeing Joker and Sojiro's relationship through the whole game and not almost immediately coming to the conclusion that it was paternal.

Honestly i dont see the issue either. Yeah sojiro is like a father figure but that has nothing to do whether you want to date his daughter or not.

Between that and Futaba's mental state it was enough for me to not want her on my date list.

I just saw him as grumpy old dude that became a cool old dude. The Futaba sister thing mostly annoys me because the people who think that come across as extremely self righteous, lecturing jerks. "How dare you like the gamer girl."

I have no idea where you saw that but I'll take your word for it.

Any discomfort I've seen about dating Futaba has been either with her being your new dad's daughter, or her grievous mental state.

Sojiro and Futaba are blatantly your surrogate family, the game isn't even subtle with that.

That being said, don't let that stop you from dating Futaba; if the game endorses you dating women older than you including your teacher, I don't see why it's an issue to date your surrogate little sister :V

Like I guess the game does support kazuto's view since after asking you not to date Futaba, Sojiro backslides and says he'd be okay with it.

I just saw them as a family brought together by happenstance and choice. To me at least, after the end of the game, there's no way Joker is just some kid Sojiro is good friends with.

I'm not trying to imply anything about anyone here and everyone has right to their own interpretations but that goes both ways ya know.

I didn't date Futaba because I was focused on Makoto, but dating Futaba has his own hilarious potential.

I'm kind of surprised that Kasumi hasn't made much of an impact in the shipping circles as Marie did.

I suppose it's because the game doesn't try to force her and Joker together as much as Golden did for Narukami and Marie, but still.

It's aight, most of the fandom agrees.

As far as Atlus Re-Release New Girls go Kasumi seems pretty cool.

It helps that her screentime is mostly relegated towards the end of the game after everyone else's arcs have been resolved.

I actually ship Makoto and Ryuji.

I really like how they focused on that dynamic in Royal; Ryuji is like Makoto's stupid little brother that she has to scold but still loves deeply.

I don't like sounding like a contrarian but I like Marie. I've never really hated any fictional characters, I think that's kinda silly.

People get mad when they feel like a character is being forced down their throat.

Whether they actually are is up to debate.

Especially a character that wasn't in the original game.

It is kinda annoying.

You may not believe me, but I have never once felt like any character from anything was being shoved down my throat. That's why complaints like those just confuse me.
