I hope P 5 R removes that people dreaming in color nonsense from the game. I always hated that question because it felt wrong and doesn't make sense.

It's true though. There are actual studies that show that people who grew up with black and white television tend to have monochrome dreams.

It's also not that obscure of a knowledge, I knew about it before this game.

It's more like it's worded backwards. IIRC the question makes it come off as if people were dreaming in black and white even before the black and white TV, and color TV specifically brought color to dreams. It also tends to make it look like a lot bigger than it really is, when it really just is "Black and white TV caused people to dream in black and white soemtimes."

So if the new ultimate Personas are basically the real life name or alleged one, is Joker just straight up going to get Lucifer?

What are you talking about? Lucifer is already in the game (Unless you mean renaming the angelic Lucifer that Joker can fuse after maxing out Hifumi's Confidant to Helel and making the demonic Lucifer Joker's third-tier Persona).

I mean, I figured that the reason Okumura's palace had no Haru in it was because it was based on his workplace, in which she barely figures.

I hope they realized that having Mona upstage Haru in her own character arc was a stupid, stupid decision and are rectifying it with this change.

I wouldn't mind morgana and ryujis fight being removed from the game wholesale. I get the logic behind it, what it's actually about is morgana feeling useless to the team, but the whole execution of it made me dislike both characters while it was going on and I felt it was a negative in the game's story.

Yeah, I'd limit Morgana's plot relevancy to the two points where he's at his best: Kamoshida's Palace at the start and Mementos at the end, with his Confidant parts sprinkled in throughout.

I don't expect them to change this but I also thought the payoff of Morgana learning what he really is super underwhelming.

He spends the whole game stressing about whether he's really human or not, and then he finds out he isn't and he's just ok with it.

It felt like a rehash of Teddie, which for as obnoxious as he could be that had a MUCH better payoff with Shadow Teddie.

I'd never call Teddie's arc a payoff. It brings up effectively a nonanswer, and most of what he can do is still vague and unexplained by the end of the game. Morgana may not be perfect, but that doesn't mean Teddie was a great character. All personal opinion, of course.

I'm not saying Teddie is good. I'm just saying that Teddie finding out he was basically a shadow, despairing and then overcoming that is far more satisfying than Morgana just being "lol I'm not human but it's k". It's like the core of his motivations and it's dealt with in a really unceremonious way.

Mind you I'm strictly talking about the character's emotional arc here.

@Cybran General Sturm Yeah, Lucifer is in Hifumi's confidant, but we all know Satanael is basically SMT Lucifer. Following the theme of the new Ultimate Personas, i think Joker will somehow get a special version of Lucifer, like maybe a version of one with six angel wings and six demon wings like his concept art in 2. Plus i recently found out Joker's original ultimate persona was Lucifer, here: https://tcrf.net/Persona_5/Unused_Personas#Lucifer. So maybe they'll bring that back to some extent?

I prefer Satanael as a name for how it sound but having joker straight up summon the past 20 years or so of history of SMT to kill the demiurge sounds pretty cool, gotta give it that.

Agreed, i've come to appreciate that scene more after playing SMT. Joker really did create a world of freedom on the corpse of God. Gotta say, i like the idea of instead of bringing Persona to SMT like Apocalypse, Atlus is bringing SMT to Persona. I've heard that Royal has more endings, i think i see a Law-Chaos-Neutral decision in it.

I don't really care about smt as a whole and I'd rather not have an alignment choice to pick in Royale, to be frank, I just think that considering satanel is already a huge throwback at SMT!lucifer, going the extra mile of actually making him lucifer seems logical and carries a certain weight for the sheer history factor.

Morgana is a literal embodiment of Hope. Not fretting over being non-human makes logical sense.

With Teddie we don't even know what emotions became the basis for him as a shadow.

Maybe, but it doesn't make him an interesting character and the payoff to all his worrying about being human is still underwhelming.

Never said it did. The dog is a more interesting character than the talking Persona mascots.

To be fair, Morgana mostly had to worry about that because he had a cat body but memories that led him to believe he was human. He really has no reason to be upset about not being human if he isn't a cat either.

OK, but. Do we ever find out why Morgana looks like a cat? At least with Teddie it's explained.
