@tclittle I don't think that he will, but I really hope this guy doesn't turn out to be a villain. It'd be great to see a noble counselor character, especially in a story like this.
Also, I find it hilarious that he has the same Japanese Voice Actor as Ainz Ooal Gown.

Given he has his own trailer; he's clearly playing a bigger role than initially thought.
They did those for the Confidants for P5 as well.
I don't recall that actually
There definitely were trailers for confidants. I remember there were some debates about how different people translated the line in fortune teller's trailer (it was unclear whose boyfriend was mentioned and some thought it was Joker's).
I think this guy will turn out to be an ass, but not bad enough to warrant a whole palace to himself.
Persona 5 Royal Completion Announcement Premiere broadcast set for August 30
Didn't they say there would be more new Confidants after Kasumi and Takuto? Though it's kinda odd they haven't revealed anyone yet.
Takuto doing the Salt Bae is hilarious, especially since the games timeline is in 2016, a year before Salt Bae was thing, meaning Takuto Invented it in the Persona verse. XD!
Maybe a Shiho Confidant? A guy can dream.
I'd imagine Jose is also going to have a confidant.
A Confidant you can only progress while in Mementos? Now that's interesting.
Shiho confidant would be fine as long as they don't go the intimate healing route.
I am going to guess that if Shiho becomes a Confidant, she cannot be romanced just like Junpei when playing as a girl in Persona 3 Portable.
I just want to see her more than just a talking plot device that uses attempted suicide as a pity card.
That's not really a good comparison because you can't date Junpei because he already has a canonical romance that's a major plot point.
There's nothing preventing you from being able to date Shiho aside from the moral aspect of it from our POV.
I mean there's nothing that says rape victims aren't allowed to have romantic relationships. There's not really any moral problems with it except that everyone thinks Atlus would fuck it up (not necessarily saying that I disagree on that point).
And that is the real reason why I would like to see Shiho be impossible to romance: because Atlus might find a way to screw it up.

I don't think he wants them to screw up.
He (and a lot of other people) just have zero faith that they won't screw up.
A Shiho confidant would probably end up touching the damage caused by the whole Kamoshida incident, which is something I dunno if Atlus can deal with appropriately.
maybe if atlus used a tiny percent of their collective braincell they could make her
What's the point of a girl existing in Persona 5 if you can't date her though?
because ann x shiho is my ship and i will die for it
