The amount of Comic Sans in that picture is legitimately upsetting me.
I can't stop watching this video.
I wanna play P 4 AU again and do this BS myself.
I've never been good at fighting games, but I'm sure making an "exact copy of character except we trade A for B without any other changes" is almost always a bad idea in any game ever. Even worse when it's applied universally to all characters.
Persona Q2 comes to the West on June 4th. Unfortunately, like with SMT: Strange Journey Redux, No Dub for You.
Sweet, it'll be the last 3DS game I'll buy short of another act of Bowser's Inside Story remake-esque insanity on Nintendo's part. Excellent swan song for the platform.
No dub really sucks especially since I enjoyed a lot of the silly battle quips and banter in the first game, but the writing was on the wall after Strange Journey Redux wasn't dubbed and this game has a much bigger cast.
I cant blame them for this one. There is a lot of voice actors they'd have to get and a lot of voice acting too, and the longer it takes to come out the ess likely it is to happen considering the 3DS decline in the west.
Heck I was surprised they managed to get Akihikos VA at all for Dancing All Night when Navarre had a different VA in Apocalypse.

No dub makes sense but it did make my decision not to buy it a whole lot easier.
I actually suggest getting it. It also helps because canon wise the Phantom Thieves encounter the new girl after the story ends.
So theres no amnesia this time. For the PT anyways.

Ditto. I enjoyed the first enough, but the flanderization and dull, repetitive gameplay made me just... stop. And I don't think I'll ever pick it up again.
I'm glad there is no dub. Persona has superb cast of Japanese actors, their English equivalents are more hit or miss to me.
Eh I'm sure the Japanese have their own hit or miss actors.
After all bad or subpar acting is a universal thing.
Well, I do prefer English Rise, but others are about equal or worse to me.
x5 Nah. I have no interest in a crossover spin-off if 5 is the main focus and what I read of the story doesn't sound all that interesting. If they'd gotten all of the dub cast back it might have still been fun but now there isn't even that.

Rise and Teddie are the only Japanese V As that will annoy me. Morgana is voiced by Pikachu so it works out fine.
5 being the center gives it better narrative focus. Look at how P4 Arena Ultimax and its bad attempt of a plot by trying to give the P3 Characters focus but uses them terribly while trying to wank off the P4 cast, while only on the Non-Canon P3 route do they get to shine despite being the better ending to P4s bad but canonical one.
I understand not being all for it, though thankfully the antagonist Nagi isn't evil. Misguided in thinking isolating people and making them watch their suffering over and over will somehow help make them feel better.

Joker is Lelouch, that alone justifies playing the Japanese dub.
Man, this is giving me Blazblue Central Fiction flashbacks and the reactions to that game not getting dubbed.
Reminds me of how DSJ also got that reaction. Though it has much less voiced dialogue so dubbing it would have been simpler.

Always a shame though when good VA's are wasted on mostly silent protagonists.
Joker talks unlike the other two. One of the animes many many problems afterall when it has him being more silent than he is ingame.

I would understand not dubbing given that AtlusUSA has to juggle a hell lot of VAs (or replace them which can leave worse taste), which can eat through a lot of time and 3DS is already on it's way to a better world so they don't have much time. However, I find it to be Broken Base worthy given that many, myself included, actually liked or at least ok with the English voice acting and were looking forward to it, so seeing that it won't be dubbed is quite a blow.
However, from their implication, though they're aren't planning on dubbing them now, but who knows if they'll change their mind in the future. We'll just have to wait and see.

3DS is still thriving in Japan at least, which is why this a west problem for us sadly. Hope they dont prodce anymore 3DS games because Atlus USA will likely continue doing this as a result. And I wouldn't blame them.
I expect 3DS game production to stop by next year tbh
It's a shame we can't always get dual audio
tfw you realize P 4 U stateside never got its final patch
Like shit. Guess that's why Tag exists
I recall somebody saying the 3DS would live on for a while.
Late life cycle or not, this just brings back old wounds from Central Fiction. This'll be the first Persona product in the States without a dub. That really stings. Regardless of the timing, if the late release on the console didn't limit a potential audience, the lack of a dub definitely will.
I don't mind the lack of a dub since it means that we won't have to hear the butchered English pronunciation of Ryuji's last name in Q2.
