I heard a lot of people enjoyed it more re-starting it and taking less bad choices the second time.

Alternative plan- sell it to me.

I'm seriously pissed that I didn't take advantage of that bargain.

See you in the discussion pages.

There will be a giant nihilistic half-bear dinosaur thing at the end of the striptease. It is quite hard, IIRC.

I'm confused as to how so many people are getting stuck against the enemies in this game. I didn't use any sort of guides for combat or making stronger personas, or grind for experience, and I never came within two weeks of failing to rescue someone. The only bosses I lost against were Kunino Sagiri and Izanami No Ookami, and I didn't have to change my lineup or get new equipment or anything to beat them, just try again and not make the same mistake a second time.

Shadow Mitsuo sucked up most of my SP restoring items though.

If you're still using something like Jack Frost when you're up against Shadow Kanji, you might be relying too much on the personas dropped by enemies. Using fusion to make stronger personas is pretty much mandatory in this game.

Me too, people say this game is Nintendo Hard, but I've barely have had any real trouble with it up till this point. Heck, I've always managed to beat most of the dungeons with more than a week to spare in some cases. I just need to beat the final dungeon and fight the true final boss.

Aside from looking up fusion guides, I don't have much problems since I made sure to managed my resources and party members, so I won't have to spent as much yen for the Fox's service.

yeah im pretty sure its ONLY nintendo hard on well, hard difficulty, and i assume most of these people having trouble are on normal or easy mode instead of hard, which completely baffles me.

actually is easy mode really a different difficulty than normal? seems to me its the same difficulty but 10 auto-revives you will rarely be using (unless you're for some reason either really bad at the game or just horribly unlucky)

and the idea for fighting bosses is to pretty much just save, go in, see how badly matched up you are and then go back and fix your lineup. is it really that hard?

Now that makes fun of a game I like, but is actually funnysmile Two previous ones were great, too.

Regarding the Nintendo Hard, it may be some weird case of Hype Backlash. SMT games are   *

often hailed as being so hard that surviving one battle is an enormous success, and, while they tend to be harder than most JRP Gs, that is nothing a good amount of preparation and knowing one's strengths can not take care of.

Edit: I changed a wording, so that the sentence actually means something.

I think that one problem with SMT games is that they're quite conducive to Yet Another Stupid Death. All you need to do is take your mind off of what you're doing for a second, say you swap in a demon or teammate that you want to level up without considering its weakness to enemies you're up against, and then WHAM, you get area spammed against the weakness repeatedly and die.

Totally avoidable; people get embarassed and frustrated that they miss these things and have to start over from the last save point (usually a couple dungeon levels prior, in my experience).

Okay, how in the fuck do you recover sp? The items are the rarest ones to find, the vending machines will only sell you 5sp cans at a time, and it doesn't recover in battle.

You leave the dungeon, thereby having the SP recovered, fuse a Persona with an Invigorate skill, get a help from The Fox (Hermit S. Link), or conserve them.

My most reliable method is relying on Invigoration (or items that do the same thing) and seeking out chump battles where I don't have to cast anything(or use HP-only skills, since healing is very cheap, for the most part).

Early on, you don't recover it. You conserve SP instead. Focus mostly on physical attacks, and pop off a Dia when you need a quick heal.

Later on, you grind money in the early dungeons so that you can pay the fox's exorbitant prices. Worst case scenario, you make treasure runs and hope you got a Soul item.

Once you established the Hermit Arcana Social Link, I recommend advancing it in between your other Social Links, Fox can give you a discount for each rank up.

I made it through my first playthrough without ever using the fox, and it didn't stop me from finishing all the dungeons quite quickly.

I only started using it once I started a New Game + and had money to burn, and wanted to beat every dungeon in a single day.

^OK.

Do you mind me asking why a cutscene more-or-less unrelated to the actual gameplay ruined the game for you?

A scene doesn't have to be relevant to gameplay to piss me off.

It wasn't really "ruined the gameplay" so much as "I'm going to try to forget this scene ever happened."

The only funny part about it was Kanji's shenanigans; the rest of the swimsuit scene, especially with Yousuke and the main character getting shoved itno the river made me think No. Just... No.

Yosuke really reaches high levels of Jerkass in that scene.

The one thing that struck me odd about that scene was how yosuke didn't noticed the giant bolder that was within a foot of cracking his skull open. Other than that I don't see the problem. Typical anime slapstick, right?

EDIT: Though I will recognize that Yosuke was, and generally is, a douchbag.

^^^Alright.

I still don't follow you. I'm assuming you already knew Yosuke was a complete homophobic cockslap, and that entire scene was pretty much "Yosuke is a complete homophobic cockslap" stretched out to, like, twenty minutes, so I'm not sure why it pissed you off so much.

Was it the fanservice that pushed you over the edge? In that case, it's a Japanese video game about high school. You can't possibly tell me you weren't expecting that. Come back after you get to the hot spring trip, you'll want to choke a bitch.

It was the parts where I'm asked for my input (the "Chie and/or Yukiko look(s) cute" one and whether they'll grow up to look hot). I was trying to run counter to what he was saying and I got shoved in with him anyway.
