I remember when I joined one of those groups where you'd adopt Neopets, feed them, train them up with Codestones/Doubloons, and if you were rich enough, paint them, before putting them back into the Pound so they had a better chance of getting adopted for real. Ah, the Video Game Caring Potential. Good times.

^^ Faerie?! Man, those cost so much. I always wanted to paint my acara faerie but never could. Also, it took me forever to get used to that spelling.
^^^ Well... you were cheating...
My sister shared my account for a while before she made hers, though which I'm pretty sure was also against the rules. That's a silly rule, though.

And I have nothing but fond memories of cheating
^It is a silly rule. They made it to lessen the complaints of people getting accounts stolen and stuff.

Ecstasy is Sustained IntensityIt's been 7 years, so I don't remember specifics, but it had something to do with the way they had it programmed. You attach some code to the URL to give it the results you wanted. They have since changed it, because I guess I wasn't the only one who figured that out.
Ecstasy is Sustained Intensity@Gecko: I think I was lucky enough to find a Golden Paintbrush (also mega-rare at the time), and I traded that. Or maybe I won something involving that magic pool that changed colorations? I forget how I managed to make her Faerie.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaHow did the magic pool work? I can't even remember!
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaAll I remember of this site is my first experience with forums * and how pissed I was at TNT deciding to drop that Dr. Sloth Returns plot they started up, instead opting for another medieval war that fucked the continuity, a pirate war that concluded a plot arc they aborted years before, and some stupid desert thing. I left before the Lost Desert plot could finish.
I think the plot nonsense is why I eventually became more attached to one of their competitors, AMZ. Of course, they suffered from a bad case of serverdeath, and while they've been resurrected recently, it's a They Changed It, Now It Sucks! thing bigtime.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI think they annoyed me because they were so arcane. And the "Boss Battles" were ultimately only rewarding to the person who actually beat the boss, and everyone else got diddly.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI do still kinda like the battledome.
Fun fact: There's an item called the "Amulet of Inevitable Betrayal.
"
Go look at the item description. Seriously, go look at it.
Discover the rest as the game progresses.Awesome. Wasn't there another Firefly reference in the site somewhere?

I tried to write a Neopets/Metroid crossover involving Dr. Sloth once.
...
...
...Don't ask.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaNeopets was, essentially, the first internet community I was ever involved in. And I never even used the forum!
I belonged to it for several years, as did my cousin. And yes, it was sometime around 2003.
Then I progressed to Runescape (as did my cousin) for a few years, attracted by the real-time nature of it.
Then to Nation States, (which my cousin also followed me into) which attracted me with the depth written roleplaying afforded. That was also my introduction to internet forums.
The regions I was in kept dying despite repeated efforts to revive them. And I was running out of ideas for advancing my nations. So I dropped NS and committed full-time to this forum, and have been here ever since!
Flora Segunda | World Made By Hand | Monster Blood Tattoo ^You should read these series.

I had, in order of adoption:
All of them were some color of blue. That was kind of their schtick; I called the the Blue Crew. They all had their little personalities and such.
