Alice: [checks a complicated time-keeping device] Half past noon. Plenty of time.

Bob: Your spelling class, dear. Did you take your medication?

Alice: That's nice. Have you ever just stopped to look at the ceiling fan blades. They go around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around...

Part forum game, part collaborative writing effort. Alice and Bob are about to have a conversation. Who are Alice and Bob? Are they friends? Lovers? Siblings? Complete strangers? This will only be revealed in conversation.
Rules:
1) One line of dialogue per post.
2) Characters should alternate. This is a conversation, not a soliloquy.
3) The line must take at least the last page worth of exchange into account for the sake of context, if not the whole conversation. (If this goes on long enough, the latter will be nigh impossible, hence the one page rule.)
4) Actions can either be performed in addition to dialogue or in their place, but should be less frequent than pure dialogue.
5) About ninjas: They happen. If you get ninja'd, check to see if your post makes sense as a follow-up to the ninja's post. If it does, it's fine. If not, edit away, me hearties.
6) Odd numbered rules are more important than even numbered rules. If being ninja'd makes Bob say three things in a row and they all make sense in sequence, then Bob just got loquacious, okay?
Bob: *sigh* It's... what, Thursday?
