Abel: Because our magic doesn't let us violate the laws of physics. You have to understand everything that goes on in a spell, at least in as far as what happens.
Which means we can't do anything flashy like conjure animals, like you were doing.
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."Abel: Every mage knows a spell called Force Spike. Pick a point, pick a direction, convert mana into direct force at that point. It's very simple to understand and call on.
Doesn't take much mana to throw somebody across a street. Just spike right in front of them and the air does the trick for you.

"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."Abel: That's the philosophy.
If I wanted to use all my mana for the next 24 hours I could probably force spike right now with about the same equivalent force as a jetliner hitting you at cruise.

Ges: I see, magic usually operates very differently between dimensions so I'm not surprised.
Alvan: I'm also a warcaster, so I've got more than my sword as well. Well, spells and my hand cannon.
