"So, Noel, where are you from, anyway?"

Holdar proceeds to walk in the direction Igno pointed to until they find the entrance to the park, where he begins to look for a place that is sufficiently out of the way. Once he feels they found such a place Holdar retrieves a small blanket from one of his belt pouches before setting down his apothecary kit and retrieving a rugged mortar and pestle.

"There are three important elements to bone grinding. The first is alchemy. Anyone can learn this part if they have a mind for it and can find the right ingredients."

He begins to rummage through his bags and retrieves a number of small stones, plants and what look like fresh pieces of meat in sealed glass bottles. "Bone grinder alchemy uses everything from animal fat and poison glands you take from dead animals to arcane minerals and the remains of ghosts. With just the ingredients I have here I can make everything from antitoxin and acid to simpler things you can make in a field, like stink gas or stimulants to keep wounded warriors in fighting shape. You also make things such as spirit salts, which you pour on the ground in a line to keep undead away from you.

The second is the magic. Not everbody can learn that part, but if you have the gift and you start delving into the secrets of bone grinding you are bound to discover a couple useful spells. Now, unlike the divine magic Dhunia has granted me bone grinder magic is largely offensive, even if not all of it is immediately harmful. For example..."

Holdar points at a stone not far away from their position, and primitive runes appear around his outstretched hand as a blue bolt of arcane energy streaks toward it's target, sending the stone skipping several feet. He looks over his shoulder to make sure nobody is watching them before retrieving his alchemical equipment.

"Now, the last and most important part. Are you ready?"

Igno: Using everything you can from animals? Reminds me of my second job, actually... Never really got the hang of magic, though, except for one thing >_>

... Aaaanyways, yeah, go right ahead smile

"Very well." Holdar begins to retrieve a number of things from his apothecary kit. needles and thread, small saws and other parts before reaching into a large oiled pouch on his left and retrieving what turns out to be a large severed hand with five fingers ending in sharp claws that is adorned with carved stones similar to those around the shaman's neck.

"The last part of bone grinding is the creation of magical fetishes from the remains of mighty beasts or fallen enemies using the innate magical power contained within their flesh and blood. I took this off a Tharn shaman who tried to kill my kriel's chieftain and turned it into an arcane relic that increases the range of my magic while I hold it. of course, none of these fetishes last forever. This should be good for another week or so before it loses it's power. Others decay quicker, or need to be consumed to work their magic."

Holdar returns the arcane relic into it's pouch while giving Igno some time to take it all in. "And now, I think you can imagine what a speaker's tongue is. I think I will leave the rest to your imagination. I could teach you the basics if you are interested, but you should make sure that you are ready for it. Being a bone grinder is not for everyone."

Igno: Ooooh, metal. surprised

And, thanks for the offer. I usually don't use beast parts for fancy stuff like that. As I said, magic ain't a thing I know much about >_>

"Well, let me know if you are willing to give it a try." says Holdar as he begins to pack up his belongings. "Now then, where to next? I still need to find out how to get back."

I think I'll call it a day for now. Looking forward to introducing Holdar to other charas as well. Shame that I seem to live in the wrong time zone for this kind of RP.
