Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Relevant wicks for the wick check I performed on Two Girls to a Team.
Compare The Bechdel Test, Two Girls to a Team, and Two Guys and a Girl for similar critiques of female:male proportions in fiction.
- Two Girls to a Team: Of the six main M&M's characters, only Green and Brown are female.
- The Smurfette Principle: Diamond Ryugu is the only female Dragozaur whereas Dino Ptera is the only female Dino Knight until the revival of Dino Icthyo. This applies to Icthyo herself in the Japanese version, as Ptera is male there. Ryugu is male in the latter version as well.
- The Smurfette Principle: Grendizer played this trope with Hikaru until the third season when Maria joined the team and the gender ratio became 2:2.
- Two Girls to a Team: Since the last season.
- Two Girls to a Team: Due to Miho being upgraded to a main character from her one-off status in the manga, she and Anzu are the main female characters.
- Two Girls to a Team: Excluding Gideon, who is an A.I., there are two women in the team in Seasons 1 and 2. Averted from Season 3 onward, which features at least three women at any time.
- Two Girls to a Team: There are two distinct female members among the group.
- The Smurfette Principle: The only girl in Team Q4. Dropped when she joins the Cardfight Club, as the team also has Kourin, making it Two Girls to a Team. But later becomes this again in VD when Kourin was erased from everyone's memories after she lost her duty as a "Called Walker".
- Two Girls to a Team: Harley and Ivy are the only women on the team. However there's more focus on them than the rest of the crew.
- Two Girls to a Team: Supergirl and Wonder Woman.
- Two Girls to a Team: Her and Sam serve as this to the main six.
- Two Girls to a Team: She and Starla are this to Starfleet.
- Two Girls to a Team: Lucia and Aina are the only female members of the Burning Rescue.
- Two Girls to a Team: Inverted, while the Children could hardly be considered a team, there are five of them, and Shinji and Kaworu are the only boys. After Kaworu's death in the third movie, Shinji is now the only male among the Children.
- Amazon Brigade: Her team for most of the early parts of the run consists mostly of female Pokémon, with usually two exceptions at a time (in sort of an inversion of Two Girls to a Team). Whenever she caught another male Pokémon that the couch wants to use, one of the existing males would die so that the ratio stays constant, as was the case for Audie replacing Dudebird and then Melvin replacing Audie.
- Two Girls to a Team: Along with Ariados on Nigel's Champion team.
- Two Girls to a Team: Along with Cheza.
- Two Girls to a Team: With Sophia, initially, for the Brockton Bay Wards. She's not happy with this, and is predictably pleased when Madison joins the team.
- Two Girls to a Team: The No Names have Chel and Rei as their only women.
- Two Girls to a Team: At first with Emma Reimer and Stephanie Brouwer, but that ends once the Wasp joins MLI in Series IV.
- The Smurfette Principle: Entirely averted by changing the Green Ranger into a girl, making it so there are now Two Girls to a Team from the get-go.
- Two Girls to a Team: The titular Six include two women, one of them a doctor and the other a CIA spook.
- Two Girls to a Team: Out of a cast of six, Norah and Emily are the only females. Norah comes across the body of a female colleague at the start but that's it.
- Two Girls to a Team: Susan and Lucy.
- Two Girls to a Team: Geralt's hanse after Angouleme joins them.
- Two Girls to a Team: Gender-Inverted. The team consists of four females and two males. Later this gets bumped up to five females with the addition of Alice/Arisu Maresato (though there are three males if you count Zeke/Zero).
- Two Girls to a Team: Iris starts being integrated into Team Flash.
- Two Girls to a Team: Tara and Rosita with Glenn, Abraham and Eugene.
- Two Girls to a Team: This becomes the case for both the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy as they add more members to their rosters in the sequels:
- The Avengers gained Scarlet Witch as their second woman after Black Widow.
- The Guardians briefly had three girls on their team during the final fight of Vol. 2, but Nebula left (albeit on good terms) after the battle on her own personal mission, leaving Gamora and Mantis as the two women for the group. As of Endgame, it's still two, but now it's Nebula and Mantis. Gamora's situation is complicated.
- Two Girls to a Team: The second Sentai team to have two girls at the same time. However, instead of the now-traditional Pink and Yellow duo, this one had Pink and White. In later teams, White was more often used for female rangers as a substitute for Pink. It wouldn't be until 30 years later that a Sentai team would have another Pink and White female duo with Momoninger and Shironinger in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger.
- Two Girls to a Team: The seventh Yellow and Pink duo and the third one in a row. This was the last Sentai team with two female rangers at the same time for the next six years before Dekaranger brought it back.
- Two Girls to a Team: T'Pol and Hoshi, the experienced and emotionless Vulcan officer and (initially) nervous rookie communications specialist. Interestingly, as T'Pol learns to embrace her emotions more as she spends more time around humans, Hoshi becomes much more adept at dealing with her own fears and doubts as the mission progresses.
- Two Girls to a Team: Theresa Beck and Julie Young are the team's girls.
- Two Girls to a Team: UMA has Jean Echo and Kim Shaomin.
- Two Girls to a Team: Supergirl and Bleez were the only female members of Guy Gardner's Red Lantern Corps. Bleez was actually glad that Supergirl joined because she wasn't the only girl anymore.
- Beyblade Burst again averts the trope only for the protagonist team, BC Sol in this case. However, it's a strong example of Two Girls to a Team, because of the ten members two are girls.
- Eyeshield 21 is about high school boys playing American Football. The only position a female student can have is the manager position. Unusually, as long as a team has a manager, that position is filled by a girl. Later on, the protagonist team is joined by a second girl; a prominent and active cheerleader. This moves the Devil Bats to a Two Girls to a Team example.
- Most guilds, especially the Dark Guilds and Quirky Miniboss Squads, have just one (to two) female members.
- Luffy's crew, the Straw Hats, begin at five members, including Nami, their navigator. After East Blue, they add four more members, including another female, Nico Robin.
- Ash's Snivy and Unfezant from the Best Wishes saga are the only two Pokémon Ash caught in Unova that are female. His Boldore is heavily implied to be male and the rest of his Unova Pokémon are confirmed as such. Ash regularly rotates his Unova team, but almost always has Snivy in his active party, while Unfezant is usually Out of Focus and rarely needs to be called on to search for Team Rocket like his other regional birds. In fact, Unfezant was Put on a Bus for the rest of the saga once Charizard returned, making Snivy the only female member of Ash's team.
- Two Girls to a Team: In the remake, Yaksha joins Kunoichi as the second female playable character.
- Two Girls to a Team: Atiye and Lynn are the only two girls in the party.
- Shadow of War: The youngest member of the team and the only other female. Her identity is hidden by the large, dark, raggedy cloak she wears. She serves as the team's "eye in the sky" since her primary power is flight. Since she has no canon secret identity or defined unmasked appearance in the comics, she'll be given a proper name, backstory, and added relevancy to the plot. In her civilian identity, she'll go to school with the JSA members and try to tear the team apart through manipulation after she learns who they are.
- Two Girls to a Team: Nostalgia Chick and MarzGurl. Chick turns her Manipulative Bitch side on full-blast, while Marz becomes a Drill Sergeant Nasty.
- Two Girls to a Team: Abby and Bessie are the only female major characters in the series.
- The Family That Slays Together: Pepper and Dotty are sisters, and even though Dotty disobeys orders to stay at home base, Pepper still loves her. Also falls under the Two Girls to a Team arena.
- Two Girls to a Team: Patty Putty and Terri Cloth are the only two members of the main group who are girls.
- Two Girls to a Team: Chip and Sam.
- Two Girls to a Team: Ursula and Chang.
- Two Girls to a Team: One of the few examples with an even split between the two genders. (With the addition of Woofster who is a boy puppy, the gender scale is tipped.)
- Two Girls to a Team: Jessie and Mrs. Potato Head among Andy's (and later Bonnie's) toys.
- The Smurfette Principle: Subverted, Allura is set up to be this, until Pidge's Gender Reveal. Though this did make Pidge the sole female Paladin. At least until Season 3 when Allura becomes a pilot as well.

“We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” - Lewis CarrollGrowing up the second son of royalty, Carlyle knew he would never be the Dex Ducis, the monarch, of the Empire. His brother Hemad received all the attention befitting the heir of a vast interstellar state. And for the most part Caryle was fine with that. A bookish child, he immersed himself in reading about the past. The heroes and villains, the battles and court intrigue, the rise from a collapsed civilization to a beautiful empire. To think that Dex Ducis himself came from the darkness and built the Shining Palace that Carlyle now lived in hundreds of years later. The vastness and glory overwhelmed him. He may not ever be king, but Carlyle was determined to be the next building block in this history of greatness.
- After all, someone had to do it. His father and brother worked hard, but it often seemed like every other noble preferred to waste their days in the capital partying, drinking, eating, fighting over social status for the sake of having it rather than contributing to the Empire in any meaningful sense. Clearly it was up to the royal family to bring about the next golden age. Working with his father and brother, Carlyle and like minded nobles
Working with his father and brother, Carlyle and like minded nobles stretched the power of the monarchy in a bid to centralize control. Weirdly, it was the minor nobles and commoner officials who gave him the hardest time, objecting to how he and his staff forced them to adopt clearly superior means of running their departments. Annoyed, Carlyle urged his father and brother to force the former into meaningless positions and stop hiring the latter. That proved harder than anticipated, but they did manage to restrict the number of positions available to the low born. Some complained, but Carlyle paid them no heed. It was clear from his reading that the commoners were not better for anything other than rioting when things didn't go their way. Keeping them out of places where they could possibly do harm was for the best of the empire. It took strong great men with the right upbringing, right education, right blood to properly run the Empire.
Spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler in color spoiler
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.r Hemad fathered children late in life, but as the years went by his concern over the crown prince grew. What was all this talk of merit based bureaucrats and legislative petitions? Devolving power to the individual worlds? Letting the lowborn back into government positions? Did the prince want to go back to the Nightmare Years?
- That worry was short lived, however, after accidents led to the deaths of the crown prince and his sister, leaving Hemad's third child, Amelia, now the heir apparent. Carlyle didn't know his niece very well, but did not think the 18 year old was ready to rule. Neither did her father, despite his best effort to drill into his shy daughter the lessons of leadership before his own untimely passing. For indeed, Carlyle's brother was wasting away from disease and would soon leave the Empire in the hands of his untested child. And his passing couldn't have come at a worse time. Democracy agitators were calling more loudly than ever before for reforms that would drive the Empire into chaos. Carlyle blamed his late nephew for encouraging them and idiotic local nobility for not cracking down on them earlier. With his inexperienced niece now on the throne, Carlyle encourage her to take hard stand against these thugs, or better yet, let him deal with the matter.
- Suddenly, shows and music were being banned. Demonstration and protests were heavily policed. More than one leader of the democracy movement found themselves hauled off by the Archivists for indefinite periods of time. Surely a firm hand would bring these people back to their senses. Attending the annual music festival some time after the crackdowns, the duke could not help but notice an undercurrent of tension among the audiences of the shows he watched. Moreover, he also couldn't help but notice a number of the shows he watched were bordering on subversive with their lyrics and music styles that were discouraged by the crown. Any pretense that he was just being paranoid was erased at the festival's finale, when the closing band belted out a very blatant anti-monarchial song. A song that was obviously directed at him since his face was on the screen behind the band, being recorded live from his box seat. He could see himself turning red from rage, then ashen as the audience, now facing him, joined in the song's chorus: "Rise! Rise! Rise!"
- He stormed - or fled - away and ordered the band arrested. Predictably a riot broke out, and predictably it was broadcast for the entire Empire to see. He was furious. His niece was aghast. The next day she took him off the suppression efforts, which just made him even more mad. Who did this child think she was? But while he no longer had direct control, he still had his niece's ear if for no other reason than he was the only high member of the court she was familiar with. And thus, when a student demonstration turned into a siege at a small college on a frontier world, he urged her to use maximum force or look like a weak willed leader. His niece, already stung from many rumors that she was too afraid to deal with increasingly bold reformist, was swayed soon enough, and she approved the use of whatever it took to bring this little insurrection under control. Carlyle went to bed assured everything was under control.
- He woke up to discover a night long battle had occurred. The students had fought back hard, but ultimately been massacred to the last man. Again his niece was horrified, but he reassured her it was the right decision. Even when video of the deaths spread across the Empire Carlyle was convinced that it would serve as a deterrent to any rabble with dangerous revolutionary ideas.
- One can only imagine his shock when city after city on world and after world erupted into revolt in response the the massacre at the college. Carlyle's heavy hand had been met with fist, and now the Empire he had worked so hard to keep safe and secure was collapsing into civil war.

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Teenager that draws sexual attention from adults:
- Characters.Big Mouth Main Characters:
- Jailbait: Despite just hitting puberty, she manages to attract the occasional bit of unwanted attention from at least two creepy adult males.
- American Idol
- Jail Bait: Steven's infamous "hot, humid and happening, just like your daughter" line, spoken to former MLB pitcher Joe Magrane after his 16-year-old daughter Shannon had just had a superb audition. Needless to say, Joe was not amused, and Steven later referenced his faux pas, saying "I hope your daddy isn't still mad at me" to Shannon (who made it all the way to 11th place) at a later performance round. In Steven's defense, Shannon's over six feet tall even without high heels.
- Spoiled by the Format
- Days before Borat Subsequent Moviefilm came out, news broke that it contained a compromising scene involving Rudy Giuliani seemingly trying to seduce a much younger female reporter (actually the film's female lead), who he is then told is only 15. Given that the contents of this scene had real-world implications for Giuliani and his associates in terms of both their reputations and possible legal action, many news organizations wound up spoiling the scene in question in order to talk about the story.
Refusing such a relationship in story, sometimes with a bit of Hollywood Law:
- Under the Sun of Satan:
- Jail Bait: Mouchette is 16 years old. Cadignan, the marquis, cites this as the reason why they can't run away together. (That didn't stop him from having sex with her of course.)
- Recap.Two And A Half Men S 1 E 12 Camel Filters And Pheromones
- Jail Bait: Berta's granddaughter Prudence is very gorgeous and sexy. She is also 16, which is why Charlie and Alan have to keep their hands off her as Berta warns them to.
- ABBA:
- Jailbait: "Does Your Mother Know" is about a guy in a dance club who realizes that the girl flirting with him is (probably) underage. He's still willing to flirt and talk with her, though, but he's careful not to let things get too far.
Reference to questionable adult-child relationships:
- Recap.Bosch S 6 E 06
- Jail Bait: Alex says that he and Daisy deliberately attracted men who were looking for underage girls.
Somewhere between reference and No Yay:
- YMMV.Britney Spears:
- Best Known for the Fanservice: For better or worse, her flirtatious image and sexual lyrics defined her for years, to the point that it earned her her fair share of jokes about how how her willingness to show off her body had more to do with her popularity than any singing or performing skills, or that her only fans were impressionable teenage girls or creepy old men. On the less favorable side, meanwhile, were Moral Guardians freaking out over their teenage daughters idolizing a promiscuous woman who was only slightly older than they were.
More like No Yay, i.e Audience Reaction:
- Moonrise Kingdom:
- Fan Disservice: Bill Murray appears shirtless in one scene holding an axe. Sam and Suzy in their underwear could also count.
- MsFanservice.Anime And Manga:
- Deltora Quest:
- Jasmine is more sexualised in the manga and anime than her description in the books, especially with her forest rags somehow becoming a mini skirt complete with thigh length tights. The manga covers◊ especially empathise her figure which is a bit creepy since she's only sixteen at the time.
- Deltora Quest:
- Gorillaz:
- Fanservice / Fan Disservice:
- However old you were when the video for "Dare" came out probably determined whether or not you found Noodle's dancing sexy.
- Fanservice / Fan Disservice:
- FanNickname.Fire Emblem Awakening
- NoNo for Nowi, based on her Japanese name Nono.
- There are probably more Western fans who know her as "The Jailbait Dragon" or "I DON'T WANT TO GO TO JAIL" than ones who know her actual name, thanks to an Awkward Zombie strip that memorably parodied the uncomfortable incongruity of her actual age and clothing (or lack thereof).
- NoNo for Nowi, based on her Japanese name Nono.
- Langt fra Las Vegas
- Jail Bait: Kim's niece Trille, mentioned in the next trope, is 14 years old, but the actress portraying her, Laura Christensen, was 17 years old at that time and today is considered one of Denmark's sexiest women. So if any of you felt wrong about getting the hots on this 14-years-old character, you are now excused. (the age of consent is, like stated below, 15 years in Denmark)
- YMMV.Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Squick:
- Misato offering herself to Shinji. For context, she's nigh 30 and he's 14! Shinji turns her down, but still...
- Squick:
Seems like objecting to a Teacher/Student Romance, but it's not clear that it involves a teen:
- Characters.Married With Children:
- Everyone Has Standards:
- Al tends to be Squicked out by Bud's rubber sex dolls and the fact that Bud masturbates instead of scoring with a real woman. He also vehemently objects to Bud dating his forty-year-old teacher, suggesting that would be beneath his standards to him too.
- Everyone Has Standards:
Generic reference to adult-on-teen sexual abuse:
- Recap.Dragon Ball Red Ribbon Army Arc
- Attempted Rape: Two Red Ribbon Army soldiers attempt to rape Bulma. When she figures out what they have in mind, she tells them she's only sixteen. They don't care. Thankfully, Goku shows up and quickly deals with them.
General reference to teen sexuality:
- One Take
- Jail Bait: Alicia is only fifteen in the first episode, and is pregnant by the second episode. Lampshaded by Claire.
- YMMV.Gossip Girl
- Testosterone Brigade: To go along with the aforementioned Estrogen Brigade, the show also had a lot of male fans who watched it for Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Michelle Trachtenberg, Taylor Momsen (for teenagers), Kelly Rutherford (for fans of older women and/or Melrose Place)... and that's just the regulars/semi-regulars.
General reference to teenagers, may be a Zero-Context Example:
- Richard Laymon
- Jail Bait: The Woods are Dark, Funland, The Stake, Endless Night and a few others featuring pretty teenage girls.
Misuse: Apparently a general reference to teenagers:
- AcceptableTargets.The Nostalgia Critic
- Also starting in reboot, anything in the Girl-Show Ghetto. Most notable with the Sailor Moon drama, as even though his female audience made their anger at his Slut-Shaming teenage girls clear, instead of apologizing like he did for anything else hurtful pre-comeback, Doug sings the show's theme tune when the word "slut" is said in The Cat in the Hat commentary and called it "Jail Bait: The Show" at Alcon.
Seems like teen-on-adult romance rather than the converse:
- S Club 7:
- Jail Bait: A male example - a thirteen-year-old who hits on Hannah. And she allows him when she finds out he's a billionaire.
Misuse: No clear reference to anything:
- Dakari-King Mykan:
- Unusual Euphemism: Recently Mykan has had characters refer to someone or something that provides no challenge as "jailbait" and "baby food".
Combination of various uses:
- ☯utlaw St★rr:
- Jail Bait: Lolita (a song about a promiscuous 13 year old, told from her perspective), Innocence (about a 10 year old girl imitating her mother by making video's of her self doing Three Minutes of Writhing in a bikini, video was made with Scorpion's niece and it was highly controversial), Bad Judgement (about a 21 year old guy who can't stop having sex with his next door neighbor whom is 11, he pays serious consequences for it), No I.D. (a song about their underage groupies), Young Casanova (a rare male example that debates the Double Standard of this trope regarding a 16 year old, and 13 year old boy), Peach Fuzz (which might be a story loosely based on Scorpion as a kid, also doubles as a Coming of Age Story, and Sex as Rite-of-Passage).
