You have a favorite Story Mode chapter? When I was younger I was a really big fan of Amy, so I liked hers best. Now I like 'em all, but hold some resentment for Knuckles's for that Guard Robot fight in the casino. Put me off the game for a week.
Emerl's is fun too, cause while there isn't much story until you activate the ending, it's a big free for all. ^^
EDIT: Yeah, I was surprised when Rouge showed up as Chapter 3's character. Was expecting Knuckles. :P

The Protomen enhanced my life.Emerl's chapter is really more like Opening the Sandbox to fight everyone til you get all the cards you want and max out your battle point thingies.
I remember finding Shadow's chapter interesting for figuring out the plot, at least.
...n'awww, lookit Tails' sadface with those big blue eyes. I really gotta wonder, who did the story mode sprites? They're very expressive.

4am? are you an Aussie? Got a mustache?
I'd edited my last post. Also, Chaos Emerl was at 450 skill points total.
Anywho:
Devemerl (460 Skill Points):
- Run: Shadow Run
- Dash: Shadow Dash
- Jump: Cream Jump
- Air Action: Amy Double Jump
- Guard: Amy Guard
- Heal: Ultimate Heal Skill
- 1st Attack: Stretch Chaos
- 2nd Attack: Elastic Chaos
- 3rd Attack: Flexible Chaos
- Heavy Attack: Megaton Hook
- Upper Attack: Magic Upper (Tails'. I was going for an underworld attack, but the sound effect didn't help.)
- Dash Attack: Secret Spear
- Air Attack: Shadow Rocket
- Aim Attack: Air Knuckle (E-102, not Knuckles)
- Ground Shot: Devastator
- Air Shot: ??? (Knuckles)
- Ground Power: Deep Impact (the true name of Knuckles' megaton Punch) or E-102 Combo
- Air Power: ??? (E-102)
- Ground Trap: Bat Cracker
- Air Trap: Air Bat Cracker
- Fight Pose: E-102 Style
- Attack Support: 6 (Sonic)
- Strength Support: 8 (Sonic)
- Other Support: Speed Up Lv2 (Shadow)
- Color 1: Shadow
- Color 2: E-102
- Color 3: Sonic
This one was much easier to do the moveset for: I went for arms strength and stuff reminiscent of a pitchfork. Actually, I remember now that I got at least one skill from each character on all 3 versions of Emerl.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyEhehe, hate to be the first one to bring this up, but isn't there a bit of Fetish Fuel for having any Sonic character you want beating each other up? Like, say, Rouge kicking Sonic to death?
The Protomen enhanced my life.^^to each his/her own, but No.
^^^I didn't get student Perma-Stubble till college. Now it won't go away.
Angemerl (450 Skill Points):
- Run: Shadow Run
- Dash: Rouge Grind
- Jump: Rouge Flight
- Air Action: Cream Ballet
- Guard: Amy Guard
- Heal: Ultimate Heal Skill
- 1st Attack: Stretch Chaos
- 2nd Attack: Elastic Chaos
- 3rd Attack: Flexible Chaos
- Heavy Attack: Charlie Kick (Rouge's. 5 year's worth of Fridge Brilliance just kicked in: Charlie's Angels.)
- Upper Attack: Enrage (Knuckles)
- Dash Attack: Tails Cyclone (this send you flying high when combined with rouge's stuff)
- Air Attack: Agent Eagle
- Aim Attack: Chaos Impact
- Ground Shot: Ultimate Ground Shot (angelic arrow)
- Air Shot: Ultimate Air Shot
- Ground Power: Silent Size (Rouge's) or Chaos Combo
- Air Power: Air Chaos Crush (Chaos)
- Ground Trap: Chu 2 Bomb
- Air Trap: Air Chu2 Bomb
- Fight Pose: E-102 Style
- Attack Support: 6 (Sonic)
- Strength Support: 8 (Sonic)
- Other Support: Speed Up Lv2 (Shadow)
- Color 1: Amy
- Color 2: Chaos
- Color 3: Tails
I went for a Hand of God / flight thing here.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI thought that combo was hilarious too. If I wasn't writing my movesets, I'd have said so.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyquite. I'm playing it again too. If only we could convince them to revive this game.
And I am unhappy that you can hack your game and get everything. Between having the hard copy and having a DSi (I'm borrowing my friend's DS now) I'm screwed. (that being said, when it comes to DS games, I'm a complete pirate.)
Tried my hand at virtual training again. INITIATING RECOVERY MODE completely changes how you have to fight, and makes it sooo much harder.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyVirtual Training kills me on about the 10th round. If you get Gamma and your Ground Pow's a character combo, all bets are off.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I've just been getting a lot of gammas.
Unrelated fight:
I got a rare card! Yes!
It's... Attack support! ... 1. Yay.
Well at least it's ne-
I already have 2 copies. Great.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyAbout Knuckles early game, you could go back to Emerald Beach and try to collect some decent moves for yourself.
Given, Sonic doesn't have the best moves, but thy're better than the default starting ones.
I also think you can go to Tails' Lab too at that point too.
... Level Grinding? In a Sonic fighting game? More liley than you'd think!
Sonic hates SOPAcharacter copies in the virtual training talk, but I don't think the Phi's do.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyShould Cute Shotaro Boy be there? Tails seems to be written as this more than usual. And that "sad" sprite he has makes teary eyed kittens jealous.
Also, I think the Paranoia Fuel would fit better if calssed under Nightmare Fuel. It wasn't meant to be paranoia, it was supposed to be ominious but turned to be downright creepy for some.
Though player characters blankly staring straight at the player can be Paranoia Fuel for some...
I think it's pretty evenly both?

Sonic hates SOPAIt was (as a pothole) but someone removed it, and I haven't gotten around to undoing those edits. As I'd mentioned before, in an effort to "clean up" the page, those edits removed a lot of flavor.
I think unless it's a Pot Hole, we shouldn't have character tropes that fit better on the main sonic characters page. Except for Emerl, since this is his only game.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy^ Well there's Sonic Advance 3 but that didn't have much of a plot.
Kinda funny how Emerl went crazy with power, but the Gizoids we saw in Sonic Chronicles worked alright. I suppose the echidnas had the brains to put a Power Limiter on them.
Or at least to give them the common sense to not ditch their link every time some douchebag evil guy drops a black screen over his space station's window and says he just obliterated all the stars in view.
What, did you seriously think Eggman blew up hundreds of stars from light-years away and we were able to see the results instantly?
edited 20th Sep '10 11:27:43 PM by Pykrete
^^ Wait, so you're saying that Eggman was possibly bluffing his claim of destroying stars?

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.

...between this game and Sonic Chronicles, is it just me or is Rouge always getting to be the first female character to appear in the story-driven games?
I suppose it's not so much her gender as her character, she's about the only antagonist type who can be used for exposition and plot hooks too.
Also, Tails is the Only Sane Man. And I seem to be doing an impromptu Let's Play here. Ah, 4am holidays.
