Sometimes I'm tempted to do that with a deck, but then play a game or two more and end up with a few losses.
Hey, while we're sorta on the topic of prices, is it difficult to get foreign cards at the same price? I thought it might be fun to build a budget Second Sunrise deck for Modern in Japanese.

Ruining everything forever.@Gelzo: CoolStuffInc has them for $85 a piece (which would make $340) but they're out of stock. Looking for near-mint ones on TCGPlayer, the lowest you can get where they're actually available is damn near $100.
So basically where I'm getting my numbers is last week, when they were "only" $80 most places.
As for foreign cards, it depends on the language. Japanese cards tend to cost a couple bucks more then English, although if you actually bought them in Japan that might be different. Chinese cards are the cheapest of foreign cards because of China's population; they cost about the same as English in my experience.

I guess it is.I've no idea. To be honest I've only ever owned one Japanese card, and I didn't buy it, so...
On the topic of foreign cards, I have decided that if I make a deck with Inquistion of Kozilek, I will get them in Spanish for lol obvious joke. Too bad Wizards banned the deck I was going to buy them for...

I guess it is.Last week, while browsing the $1 bin at my local card shop, I found a copy of razor pendulum
signed by the original artist.
Probably not as good a deal when you look at the card's average price (about $0.38), but an autograph is an autograph.
For the record, I bought a playset of Japanese Preordains for my Pyromancer deck when the store's only ones in stock were Japanese. I never ended up getting them replaced with English ones, even when it turned into a Splinter Twin deck.
I missed a chance this summer to have some cards signed by their artists. I ended up taking too long to find them, then got distracted by a draft.

Ruining everything forever.I saw a few 'goyfs on eBay for between $35 and $50. May simply be a case of hunting for bargains (and accepting beat-up copies, which, y'know, whatever.)
On the other hand, maybe I ought to wait until it's evident that Modern is going to be a meaningful format for a non-pro player. Much as I love ridiculous aggro decks, they aren't much fun outside of a tournament environment. If they start doing Modern PT Qs, though...
Good lord, I'm talking about playing tournament Magic again. STOP IT, ALD. REMEMBER YOUR PAYCHECK.

I'm so classy I will let the obvious response here slide.
But look, dammit, I'm trying to avenge you. I'll take five and come up with a better marketing campaign for it than the whole jelly of evil thing if I must.
