Wow, that's less than two weeks.

...and people were surprised that spoilers were coming out this early? Huh.

People were surprised that the whole set was out this early. Even in the Rancored_Elf days, we never had anywhere near the whole thing before official previews started, with the exception of Judgment which was spoiled in its entirety over a month early thanks to an MTGO glitch.

I guess it is.

Okay. But how do any spoilers get leaked if it's so unlikely for all of them to be?

...whoops.

I just found out that the simple addition of Sorin Markov to one of my decks actually gave it a fairly potent infinite combo of somewhat considerable cruelty.

I'm guessing the "whoops" as opposed to the "whoo-hoo-ha-ha" means it's more powerful than you need it to be?

Well, it was accidental. And I think it'll only be fun once or twice, which I suppose is fine, because I don't expect it'll work beyond the first time someone sees it happen.

@Gelzo: Usually the leaks are something like the earlier Japanese one for this set: someone gets their hands on a couple of packs early and posts what they got.

I guess it is.

Battle Cry is awesome because it is essentially WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

It lets you do positively silly amounts of damage very quietly, at least by casual standards. I love the mechanic, I thought it was quite a bit cooler than infect OR metalcraft, and it's a shame they aren't making any more of them.

Well, maybe they will. Here's hoping.

Sword of Pride and Prejudice... and Zombies?

New Phyrexia's Mirran cards look so badass, look at those flavor texts. For a second there I thought we still had a chance.

The prerelease is in two weeks? Holy bat-something, I thought it would be in early May or... wait, it's late April already, isn't it? Time goes so fast when you need it to slow down the most. sad

I ain't saying no showy crap like "later buddies" or something lame like that. I'll be back soon, you bozos!

Sword of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies gives...protection from Zombies and Female Novelists? I wish my knowledge of Russian literature hadn't failed me - one more title, and that would have been a full cycle.

Question, if you Waagh with battle cry, I don't believe it gives them counters, so it doesn't work with proliferate does it? if not then I still prefer infect, as it only needs to do at most half the damage a regular deck would have to to kill and opponent, and you can proliferate the hell out of it to not even need to do that.

EDIT: I'm totally gonna make a Mr. Darcy EDH deck. :P

Battle Cry is until end of turn. No counters. Unless you put battlecry cards in an infect deck, in which case you can expect a LOT of counters.

Yes, but the problem is that there really isn't anything creative to do with Battle Cry design-wise, especially since they limited it to only +1/+0. If they made it Battle Cry X, then we could at least have some interesting designs like a frail creature that gives a massive battle cry bonus to everything but itself, or a battlecry equal to the number of attacking creatures, or something.

And gameplay-wise, Battle Cry is just "ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK". Exalted was a good mechanic because it encouraged decision making, since only one creature could attack to get the exalted bonus; Battle Cry is good if everyone attacks, which is exactly what most decks want to do. [/stophavingfun]

Still, there is some charm in hitting the opponent with 3 extra power on each of your creatures. :P

see, my decks tend to use creatures as nothing more than spells with legs and/or Ablative People shields, so Attack! Attack! Attack! is kind of beyond me.

I just lived the fuckin' control dream. Stabilized at 4 life against an aggro deck and proceeded to stall the necessary turns and resolve a ten-drop win con. Awwwwww yeah.

I guess it is.

Come talk to me when you've stabilized at 1 life in suicide black control against combo-aggro and come back for the win. [lol]

I've stabilized and Time Warp-ascended at -4 life with my opponent's Abyssal Persecutor, does that count?
